IN DEFENSE OF RAW POETRY

Is poetry a mere form letter
just fill in the blanks
merely form and nothing better?
if it is, no thanks!

I'll leave perfection to professors
in their sterile lecture halls
let them be the art's possessors
if they have the balls

All poetry straight from the heart
has its own type of grace
it's time the perfectionists start
to wipe the smirks from their smug face

glad to see that you can recognise the difference between strict form, craftsmanship and tools-of-the-trade.

Too old to change now lmao. This oldie was brought back due to a minor edit but it does work fairly well as a protest against too strict adherence to rules doesn't it?

author comment

''had'' would be better no
and
I also show up old buried ah beauties
by just adding a minor edit
like a comma or ( )
and some one reads it
WOW
this is poetry ----was sleeping in drains till recently
none had the balls to comment on it
you know it

or if they are poets, choose for themselves,

God has always been a really crappy poet.

cheers,
Jess
