Daydreams and Dollars

I want to go back
to the magical years of the 70’s
I want to enter a backstreet bar in Brooklyn
where live performers
sing their hearts out
for a few bucks and hopefully a break

I want to sit down at a round table
with a glass of fizz in my hand
Watching for the lights to flash onto the next act
Who just happens to be
Barbra Streisand
Oh yes, that’s my daydream
at least for today anyway.

She is a very famous actress, singer
Broadway star and from USA, New York. She has an amazing voice and in the 70's she was young and I adore her films. I have purposely spelt her name as Barbra because I read that she prefers it.

Thank you...Teddy

I don't know of anyone who doesn't know Barbara Streisand--or at least her voice. Lovely lady, btw. I met her in the mid 70' when she visited Scottsdale, Az., "The Most Western Town.'' Nice poem, Teddy; it brought back good memories. Jerry

So you lived my actual daydream, how wonderful I am in awe this evening, how lucky are you. That's amazing.

Dear Teddy, love your poem and I'd like to do the same. Barbra was and I suppose still is, a great star, singing and acting. Remember the movie with Robert Redford?
Why the dollars? I know you need them to get there, but I'd name it Daydreams alone, just my opinion.
Enjoyed, Gracy

She is indeed still here, and still doing amazing things. Why the dollars well because my title talks about my daydream and the dollars that these young to be superstars were singing for. They started off making a few dollars. Always so Lovely to see you and I am delighted you have enjoyed this today. X

Thank you...Teddy
