A Collection of Sorrows, Part One.

I am the broken man who stands lighting his torch
My day was dead and my love was gone
There was no one around and no one to feel
All the things that I felt all the misgivings real

I was broken last night in the eyes of temptation
The light was burnt out and I feel lamentation
I don’t know why I did what I did
But it’s been done, so let me live

You placed all your trust at the foot of my love
And I let it all fall like a dying dove
So collect your courage and grab your fears
There is nothing more of that trust around here

Conceal my heart and destroy my mind
I have nothing to lose, and nothing to hide
I was just a child of love, growing into trust
Bat down the spiders webs, and blow off the dust

How I wish I could change everything
Fix my heart and the bells that ring
How I dream to hold your heart
To figure it out, and press restart

Just look into my eyes
Do I look happy? My heart I despise

I don’t deserve your sympathy, so take my pride
Design my heart, my body and soul
Take me apart and my parts be sold
You are my love, at least you were
But now all I see is anger and blur

I believe that if you could see
The broken little heart not beating in me
You would just drop your gun
And forgive me for what I have done

So grab your trigger and make up your mind
Shoot me dead or start to redesign

Comments

I like this a lot, but I feel it could be better, with an edit to remove superfluous words like "the" and "and", wherever possible.

Welcome back.

This needs a constructive edit and let it be joined to part two.
I will wait for the new work, Yours Ian.T
