Whether they are
In our living room
Or we are in theirs

Animals are our teachers

The dog that wears
Its heart on its sleeve
The cat with a mind
As mysterious
as the sea

The elephants who
Help each other
The cheetah, as swift
As a Maserati

To lose one to extinction
Is like losing
The sole draft
Of a classic novel
Should the computer crash

And we have no back up
