foes become friends
dignity is compromised
at campaign rally
candidate swallows
insults of father and wife
in mock surrender
supporters applaud
incendiary speeches
dividing nation
a champion liar
blames serial packaged threats
on hostile media
ha ha ha.....

Good stuff...
Political comment has been a target for poetry and the written word for probably as long as there has been written word. You didn't say anything new as far as it goes, but you did bring out the salient points of the day! It was like reading a synopsis of the headlines and leading statements of the big news channels. ~ I just liked it! ~ Geezer.
