An Acoustic Tragedy

The Town Square always sleeps in winter
Usually waking up, to its hopeful spring
Filled with color and enthusiasm

I fear this year it will be somewhat different
No music playing, no Guitar
That usually serenades the people
Whom come from far and wide to hear it

No market stalls
The finest of what Artisan can offer
Left in boxes in the back of the Fiat 500

No beautiful flower show
Usually arriving in May
Forget-me-nots
Being even more poetic this year

I'm afraid that this beautiful Town Square
will continue to sleep, maybe waking for Autumn?

I wonder will I be able to hug the antique pavement?
Like I’ve done so many times before
After a glass or two of wine.

Hi, Teddy,
I visited Google as you suggested. The images show the Town Hall and the flower and market stalls. So inviting! Wonderful title for a melancholy poem. I hope there will be music and the sound of people chattering soon!
Thank you!

We are now back in an orange zone so I had to have my breakfast outside in the square on a bench instead of inside the bar not to shabby but I just looked around, I hope you enjoyed the British humor at the end, of course I miss hugging!

Thank you...Teddy

I did enjoy the British humor! You are too funny! And like you, I think I miss hugging the most, especially with my grandchildren. One day closer, though!

I was thinking of you when I wrote the ending, I know you will hug them soon.

Thank you...Teddy

I foresee it being pretty messy - in a good way! :)
