ABOUT MAD DOGS

ABOUT MAD DOGS

I am like a dog
grown mad
with hunger
sinking teeth into
carrion
holding on
not letting go

I am like a dog
In fear’s madness
crucified
to my soul
holding on
not letting go
not left behind

Autumn up here
feel the cold air
tonight
the chill of rain..

For me my add on this
poem would be

"Mad Dogs About"

indicating that one is apt
to keep and ear and eye out
Or be prepared to at least
perhaps have an eye or two
or four or six be upon they!!

the last line I like
but I would
soften the ending
with the placement of
"nor left behind"

but Im a sucker for the last
lines in all variations
of Nursery tales from the
faux leather books the
travel encyclopedia man
sold my mother and father
in the late forties for their
only child a daughter!

"I AM a dog
in fear;s madness
crucified
my soul bearing on
not letting go
Nor left behind"

I like your version
of course

"sinking teeth into death"

I like carrion but I like death
even better

I am reminded of photo images
of the "Mad Trapper" up here in
our North.. The snarl caught on his face Charles Bronson did
a version of this North Tale too

and of course Atticus from To Kill
a mockin'bird in his scene from
the movie

Thanks, Steven, I'll look at the changes :)
