“Company is the only thing I can do for you”

Simple words on a bookmark
They chime in my head and I plaster these words around the inside of my skull like posters on a bedroom wall
“Company”
My head is falling
It hasn’t hit the ground yet, it’s just in a perpetual state of spinning
Forever spinning into the space surrounding my mind
What is my company to you? Would it comfort you to hold your hand?
Maybe I can hold onto your mind too, just for a bit, if you’d let me
“The only thing I can do”
Why I’m so hooked on a line when there’s so many books around me I should be reading, I should be learning, reading, learning, reading, doing something other than spinning
The only thing I can actually do is feel hopeless
Your head rests in the crack of your inner elbow, it must be so heavy
I wish something could relieve some of the weight
I wish my stupid hugs could relieve some of the weight.
“For you”
You
Let our hands ball room dance
And let our fingers be the outlet to our pain
Just intertwine your fingers with mine and we can let our minds go away

How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
Is the internal logic consistent?

Is what I would call a stream-of-conscious poem. I do this sometimes when I get a thought that intriques me and feel that I can use it to write something, that may resonate with the reader. I usually refine it to a greater degree and the spacing here leaves something to be desired. I feel that it would be easier on the reader if the lines were arranged in a more readable form. I was intriqued with the thought process of transition from a focus on yourself to the other person. The simile of the fingers dancing across the keyboard in a ballroom-dance and becoming a way to release your thoughts while sharing and caring with another
is very good. ~ A really warm welcome to Neo. I hope to see more of your work soon. ~ Geezer.
