A HORRORBLE TIME WILL BE HAD BY ALL!

Chrys and I have been talking (always a bad thing).

Starting July one we will begin a workshop in Storytelling in Verse (sempiternal). As always this workshop is held in the Olympic Pool, so we’re both taking this workshop within a workshop seriously. However, the primary point will be fun. We’ve had some pretty hairy workshops lately, so we decided on something a little off the wall.

We desire to write a horror stories in verse.

For those of you who have never participated in a workshop in Storytelling in Verse, let me tell you how we work there. First of all, we desire to see in the beginning the first draft of anything written for the shop.
Unfinished (no ending yet) and ready to be critiqued in that form.
Second, we are primarily concerned with storyline and story structure. Poetry is secondary.
Don’t let me mislead you- this is storytelling in VERSE. We will be writing poetry, not prose with line breaks.
And third, seeing each other’s drafts will give everyone the opportunity to return to their poem and try to out Horror each other.
Yes, I would like to see a little competition that we can all observe as we move along.
The poetic format is up to the poet. Tell the story in the form that best suits it.
More directions will come in the syllabus that I will post shortly.
I hope a number of you will join us in the macabre.
As always, anyone (even those not posting in the workshop) may comment and critique on the various drafts.
