Me again releasing thoughts

I know this site is for mainly poetry, discussion and the likes. But at times i find this a great place to get all my thoughts out at times. i do this in form of a blog which is open to all replys from all peoples.

I work 12 hour shifts in IT industry and im finding it harder and harder to organise my thoughts which subsequently affects my poetry ill have an idea at work but be on call unable to take it down, forgotten by the next time I log into write. I find the constant stresses of life block out my thoughts and creative skill find all that i write lately mediocre. I used to enjoy poetry use it as a release the norm. My way of getting my ideas views feelings out there, but now I seem to be caught in a catch 22 situation where my stress blocks my writing and my writing that relieves my stress is not having the desired effect due stress causing writers block. A conundrum I barely have time to dwell on as i have little more time to eat and sleep. Otherwise offdays spent sleeping recovering studying. Trapped in a cycle Im yet to break yet the work is nessasary the job is mostly joyous. Yet I still find my life lacking. This isnt what i invioned my life to be.

For thoughs that took the time to hear me gripe.

For thoughs who take the time to reply in any manor. Thank you I'll ponder on all that each have said.

If this offends any one i apologise

Life my freind is easy for us in the western world, and if you think your life is so hard. Take a look in some documentaries and see the people who really have a hellish life. The gheto's of Brazil, Africa ,India, etc, Join the army see the world go to Aphganistan for free, then again you may have to spend some time roughing it. No don't tell me our life is bad, and i carry a note book, get an idea wright it down. Come on lets have some poetry . Regards Roscoe..

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.

I agree as to carrying a pocket notebook. If you just write down a 1st line, later the muse may be recalled..................scribbler

is the poet's enemy. In the past poets resorted to substance abuse to warp their train of thought. But without the rest of night's sleep there is no train of thought with which to warp. At work I have in my pocket a tickler pad and a pen.... therein I scribble whenever something strikes me. It has kept me alert at work and less fretful about losing wondrous lines that I would else have easily forgotten.

Take some time off work. That'll drain the stress, unblock the block, and give you time to write some shit down.
It's what I do, when I can't write. Writing is the test: I can't write, then its time to stop and recoop, you know?
And hey, ALWAYS keep a pocket notebook with you, and a pen. Not a pencil, a pen, cuz pencil's break.
what u working on the 12, three on, three off, four on, four off? I did that in ops for a couple years, when I first started in IT. It was a bitch, but those four days off were awesome, lol.

Once again you have a way of writing that is both truthful with out the sting of open critism thank you for that Ian. Unfortunatly my past has lead my to a life im rebuilding and to do that work and sacrifice is required. Cost of living increases continualy here. So now I keep my head above water living a very basic life. I admit i am in a lot better of position than i was 4 years ago when i did spend a stint on the streets as well as the time i lived in location for almost a year we all have our trials, I just needed a bit of positive reinforcement and i value opinions of some of the people i have spoken to,

Pendulums swing low before they arch up.

Thank you Ian once again

I would love to come back and leave more comment to your write this day. Remember one thing about writing. So not put such a strain on the brain at the time to write. It will come and I have some good ideas that have worked for many of my writing friends here and abroad. Clear out the cache of everyday life and you will see. Talk soon

So much now as I am going through my own battles of sorts also. We all as writers deal with things differently and we all write from different pens. Close your eyes make the room so quiet and just type whatever it is that comes to your mind then reflect on it. You will find something there I am sure of it. Blessings to you friend and missed your work as well.

Sigh.

The bane of a poet. To know that fatigue and harsh environment that is Life. However, for God's sake man, write about it! Open up to the feelings you elucidated in your blog...and recreate it in a poetic form.

Take your life as the inspiration itself. All will fall into place. The hard times are the honing of the poet....trust me...you begin to have an idea that you are not alone....there's a whole world out there (in you) that deals with daily survival just as you do. This is when a sense of universality takes place.

Without it we're half-baked poets.
