Neopoets, What makes a poem good?

Let's all talk about what poetry means
to us individually and makes a poem good
for you.

Neo Poets ...

Sorry about the spammers getting
through, they are beating the system
and hopefully the guys will put the
counter block on them.
I'm trying to keep an eye out for them,

thanks,

Richard

Ideas for growth;

For all members, I know there are many new
members and everyone has a voice here.
Are there any ideas that would promote the
growth of Neopoet, or help in any way?
We have an "idea gallery", under the help
tab but it's good to ask straight out, maybe
we as a site can kick it around here.

To All Neopoet Members

I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that
the chat rooms are open, even when there isn't
a scheduled event, so if you're wanting to chat
with another member, have them meet you in the
chat room. The scheduled events are indicated on
the home page, anytime you want to go there and
see what's coming up, just run your mouse over the
big bold "neopoet" at the top left of the page and click ...
event calendar is to the right.

To All Members

If you're not a premium member, if you're able, now
would be a great time. We need your support to remain
your favorite domain.

We'd love to have you !

Let's talk about critique

When is it considered ok to rewrite a poem for
a poet? In my opinion; never. The job of the critic
is to point out where the problem lies, not to rewrite
the poem, how is that helping the writer?
To offer word suggestions is fine, but at the same
time try to explain why the word chosen by the writer
didn't work for you.
The intent of a workshop is to enlighten everyone
involved, let's discuss how we can accomplish that.
