Question about "Unpublishing" a Work

Hey everyone,

Has anyone ever unpublished a poem from the site? If so, do you know if the comments are totally lost or not? In other words, if you recover the poem is everything kept intact? I am considering submitting a poem or two to a local project where visual artists make an art piece from a poem (and the poem gets published) and I am not sure if I should have the poem up on Neopoet when I submit. Yet, if I could still keep all the comments that would be great because I want to still be able to restore the poem to Neopoet in the future with the great discussions still there.

Comments

If you choose the unpublished option,
it will erase the entire thing. What you
can do is use the "editing" option, change
the title so the original can't be tracked (some
publishers may even do a quick search), and
edit the poem out, perhaps leaving a note of
explanation.
Just a suggestion. When I did it, I unpublished
and it erased all of it. Andrew may have a better
idea or Jess even.

good luck

he says
unpublished can be recovered
how
he only knows

best of luck

I unpublish many of my pieces that have no comments or when I feel they are not needed but when they are needed just select the poem from your works and publish it again all the comments will be retained and shown, I have just carried out a republish of one of mine from that list , and you can see that all the comments are there.
If you need to remove so that you can use the poem some place else just unpublish and later when you have finished with the other place just Publish again, I do this several times.
Take care young one and know we think very highly of you, always Ian xx

PS:- Just check "Your Dream" I have republished tonight !!!

Whatever route I choose I will just make sure to be careful to try not to lose everything.

The project is a pretty new idea to me. There is no guarantee that the poems submitted will be picked by any of the visual artists. Then, if your poem is chosen and an artist makes a visual piece inspired by there, there is a competition for some prize for the best art and poem pair. If the poem isn't chosen, it isn't published, so I wanted to keep my options open.

Take care everyone!
