Sorry for my Absence

I had intended to spend my whole summer writing, workshopping, making educational videos, and more, but my summer has gotten off to a rough start. I have almost nothing to show for the entire month of May.

To make matters worse, my dad lost his job this week, a job he's had for almost 20 years and it was a hard blow to our family. Money is going to be tight until I can get a job, which will be in late August, if I get into a PhD program. I was rejected from two programs already, but was able to apply to a third at the last minute. I'm hopeful, but now I'm just waiting to find out.

I will be sharing a link live broadcast I did a while back (about the writing process), and hopefully will be able to make another soon, but I'm not sure when.

Will keep everyone posted.

Kelsey

sorry to know what has been keeping you away from Neopoet...to share it by itself demonstrates your ethics and etiquette more so when you have assumed a responsibility at Neopoet. You are talented and a determined person which I am sure would enable you to get over the hurdles. You would be missed also due to the manner in which you critique a poem but now that we know the reason we know how important it is to get on with life which should be your first priority...

very best wishes to you and your family to get through this passing storm....

warmly...

Thanks so much for your well wishes. I am trying to pull myself out of this rut and your support means a lot.

Thank you again,
Kelsey

I lost my job
years before I should have retired
then took cover under poetry
and found 'tis a lovely umbrella
for guys like me poorer fellas

so do not despair
we all have to find a way
to meet our fare

but poetry is far from it
I have burned my fingers
these past 30 years

yet I trudge along lonely
without a fear
when folks like you
guys like me endear

so carry on why
fear

am sorry your father lost his job but with the present shortage of people applying for jobs it will hopefully not take long for him to land a new job. Take care of your real world life first but know this world of Neo is here whenever you need to drop in......stan
