How to save time on Neopoet

During the last few weeks I have streamed 17 pieces.
On all of those 17 I have received about 32 comments as to how the work is and replied 32 times.
This is an average of 2 comments for each of my pieces as I have been writing here for many years and each day have given support to many poets I find that there is need for a change.
I spend nearly 3 hours a day on Neopoet, but am now stopping.
3285 Hours approx. later, I have given much more than I should have, if you thin I am wrong about stopping let me know.
Loved and myself have written many words here, I am just so fed up with the way things are.
(Bloody Angry that means)
Yours Ian.T

of getting pissed off, why not offer some ideas for change?

I have offered many times suggestions to the site but it remains the same.
Not sure how to offer more.
Not to worry I am taking a break.
I have sent many messages to members from way back and some have returned.
The number of poets on Neopoet at the moment that are on the list of members is over 1000 but there must be some form of suggesting to them to become active members also that it is a place where comments are needed and workshops need to be filled by members..
I shall leave it with you I will still visit the site each day but am not going to write as much as I have been doing.
Take care,
Yours as always,
Ian..

that the posts are much more than the commentators. You mustn't take it personally Ian. The site really suffers the lack of new poets. Some of the new comers don't even respond or reply back to their own posts, so we must not expect much from them

were a lot livelier back in the "bad old" days when the site was more of a battle field than a serious learning site. Could it be that the entertainment factor of watching others fight kept interest up more than the ernest tone of trying to improve?

whilst I do my best not to be abusive anymore I feel I have lost my edge in critique.

Passion and anger, without abuse, are powerful, creative motivators.

There is nothing personal about how I feel I am probably tired.
It happens, and things just have to take their place in my priorities.
I have been spending far too much time here, each night till about 12-30 and each morning from around 8 am too 9-30 am, so I am going to take a break.
You take care of you and your family out there,
Yours as always, Ian..

Neopoet should not feel like a chore.
We will do all we can on the membership drive and step up vigorous critique. Neopoet, like us, goes through its highs and lows.
Much love,
not unconditional,
I love you because you are a fine, compassionate man and a pretty good poet, improving constantly. You are an inspiration to us all,
much, well-earned, love,

cheers,
Jess

that there should be place (forum)for those who want to learn and improve and another place ( forum) for those who think they are accomplished or want only a BRAVO and AN ENJOYABLE READ people.
Many poets don't except to have a suggestion or a thoughtful feedback

We are a poetry workshop, not a pandering site and that is our strength. Encouraging pandering is against everything we stand for and can only take away from our uniqueness and integrity.

If we just reach out through social media and every other way we can think of to find members committed to serious improvement we will find them- build on our strengths and they will come.

of what you are accusing me. You know I always work hard like so many here to keep Neopoet as a workshop place. However, I thought many want only to be read. We have welcomed many new members the last few months, but very few are becoming active. I can't see why would such a thing happen other than they felt like they are not comfortable enough to stay in a workshop environment.
Your thoughts?

for which I apologise. In chat with lonnie the other night you accused me of fixed, dogmatic thinking, incapable, intractable, of changing my beliefs or opinions. This was transference on your part and a lie. I have studied many different theologies, philosophies and ideologies and am quite capable of amending my beliefs based on new ideas and evidence.

Those with religious beliefs are the intractable ones. A system of beliefs based, especially in the Abrahamic religions- Islam, Judaeism and Islam, is stuck in the mistranslated, third, fourth or one hundred times removed from the original which has completely failed to take into account changes in society, science and philosophy which render the notion of god utterly unnecessary. cf my essay "Applying Occam's Razor to Religion" (https://www.facebook.com/notes/jess-tapper/applying-occams-razor-to-reli...). There is ample evidence to make the mere concept of any deity irrelevant. Those who choose to run their lives based on the notions, morality and ethics of a bunch of ignorant, superstitious bronze age goat herders suffer from the lack of courage to be accountable for their beliefs. It is therefore utterly necessary for religious folk to be wilfully ignorant in order to avoid the confusing and debilitating effects of cognitive dissonance.

Back to your contention that "they felt like they are not comfortable enough to stay in a workshop environment", then they are simply in the wrong place and are most welcome to leave. As much as we need new members we must not tolerate the degradation of Neopoet into fuzzy, self-congratulatory self aggrandizement in a vacuum. There are plenty of other sites prepared to do that.

cheers,
Jess

I am sorry I had to leave earlier after only a five minutes' chat to take a lengthy phone call and when I came back you and Lonnie had left already. Maybe you haven't enough time to clarify your point of view and since all our earlier arguments based on religious beliefs, my judgment was on those arguments. I don't know you personally and I don't know about how much have you changed.

As for Neopoet, I thank Allah that I am not in position of powers and I have nothing in my hand to change.
