HOLY WARRIOR

Let me hide behind my shield
Of innocents and women
should I be killed here it will yield
headlines of condemnation
as planned

For I have corrupted civilians
and co-opted Islam to my cause
I, who shall only know the gates of hell
when justice finds its way to me

I am a true freedom fighter
my purpose to be free
to kill or enslave all
with whom I disagree

My hatred is my only friend
it leaves no room for love
or compassion
or tolerance
and never forgiveness

I will gladly kill my own
with no hesitation or regret
to lay upon the alter
of my lies

So many in number
the fools who follow me
believe in me
are deceived by me
mere pawns

So who shall I sacrifice today?
fool, woman, Child?
no matter to me
who straps on the vest
or drives the car
as long as it's not I

Go now among the biggest crowd
with you fanatic believing eyes so wide
push that button and be hied
to your true reward
of hell

I am far from surprised that this would bring out the radicals lol. Now exactly which country would YOU hold up as a shining example to the world?..........stan

I am sure the Chinese would be surprised to know that western civilization invented national boundaries. I expect I know a bit more about the U.S. constitution and our form f gov't than you do. I personally think that we should return to the policy of fire bombing and carpet bombing enemy targets. At least that way when accused of not trying to limit civilian casualties there would be truth involved. How many terrorists do you know of who target military targets only. Most times they target large crowds regardless of military value with the sole intent of fostering unrest and promoting anarchy. I would recommend you study a bit of history instead of letting your opinions be formed by the likes of Michael Moore and Whoopi Goldberg. Poor misguided Theo..........stan

I have no isms, no creeds to follow, I am of the human race that exists on this planet, all of the same roots, in fact the same as the flowers. We humans make up ideas and philosophies and follow our own decrees as if they were given, proved, real, or somehow basic, but they are only in the imagination of the man who thought them up.

True this has caused the growth of understanding in a twisted, biased manner perhaps, but also a great deal of art and culture has arisen from man's mind. We tend to look upon this culture as something wonderful and give its name powers that it didn't have originally; using it to 'lord it' some over other less cultivated souls.

And all the while, the birds and beasts go about their business of living, they have no creeds, they are the same origin as we are. What are we all creating?

Wellllllllllllllllllllllll.

I'm assuming you're a tea-party member and your goddess is Sarah Palin.

How far off the mark am I Scribbler. It just amazes me how not growing beyond one's religious, political, state or country's borders, etc. makes for perfect *revisionist* history.

I will humbly beg your forgiveness if wrong, Stan. Really.

BTW, did you ever see *The Patriot*? Americans learned to *terrorize* the British, when they least expected it. Also *Inglorious Basterds*. These movies can be seen by any IQ (for the price of a DVD rental, through the library or Netflix, etc.) , and can be extrapolated from to circumvent *terrorist* as being specific to the notion of time and place as well as people.

I add a postscript.

War is hell.

~A

From what I gather war is worse than hell. You are making the same mistake as Theo. You are reading more into this poem than what is there. This is written from the perceived viewpoint of one extremist terrorist. In no place does it declare the American way is the only way, as it also never condemns any religion or entire race or group of people. Every once in a while I try to put myself in the mind of those I consider evil and then write from that viewpoint. Heck, I even wrote one a while back from the viewpoint of a serial killer. At least unlike Theo you do give me the benefit of the doubt before you blindly attack and disparage me and my family. I find it kind of amusing that there are those here who profess to think no subject is off limits.......except their own sacred cows lol...............stan PS thanks for the read and comment

author comment

Stan, there are no sacred cows for me, except perhaps truth that doesn't need either one of us for it to *go on and on*...

I would be remiss if I wasn't defending the devil, so to speak. Not one of us could speak as if we were
in another's shoes. And I dislike your attempt, Stan.

Also Rush Limbaugh was funny until he took himself too seriously, I even enjoyed his *feminnazi* references... I enjoy MM because he's unafraid to tackle issues that the media seems not to devote
any time, he, of course, makes a grand living off this, so does RL.

However, I watch many documentaries that would give credibility to MM, and Limbaugh is a poor example of intelligent discerning news media which he now purports himself to be.

Other than that, how's the weather in your neck of the woods? How's the construction business?

~A

I don't expect everybody to like everything I write. It's hotter than a stud in a whore house here and business keeps barely eeking by. Thanks for asking. I trust you and yours are doing well?...........stan

author comment

To clarify my political standing. I am a centrist. I find Michael Moore and his compatriots and Rush Limbaugh equally abhorrent. When I vote, I vote for the best person regardless of party.............stan

author comment

Never did deny it being a response to another poem. Thought it only fair that both sides of an issue be aired. Of course some here believe only their side of an issue should be seen. I am able to disagree with people on their politics without calling names and casting disparaging comments upon their family. One day you may grow up enough to do the same................stan PS there may be some here who consider me their"enemy" but that does not mean the same hold true of me. This is the internet, I can't know anybody well enough based on what I read here to consider them enemies lol

author comment

So far the only racist comments I've seen in this poem's commentary have come from YOU.........stan

author comment

I suspect this will get lost in all the ranting, but I wanted to tell you that I really liked the poem. I actually tend to like everything you write. This had a very powerful "voice". I could hear the speaker. A well written thing indeed. Hope you can find it again under all the hormone drenched screeching.

I love this, you have captured the essence of these savages.
If you get the chance, read the words of Eric Rudolph; his evil is the same, only the religion different.
I'm struck by those who read much more into this poem of yours than there actually is: I guess good poetry does that, doesn't it?

Excellent poem, chilling, true and gleefully evil.

It is my opinion that any religion which preaches total intolerance for other religions is misguided. It is also my impression that true Islam preaches tolerance. Anyhow, I'm glad you dropped in for a visit...............stan

Hi Jim, it has been said that one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. It all depends on which side we're on, doesn't it?

That goes for every war that has ever been fought, lost or won. Every side has *collateral damage* that includes innocents.

So imo, neither Kal nor I misread this poem.

~A

did I state that anyone had "misread" Stan's poem. My statement was that people read more into it than is there. That is completely different.
"One man's terrorist is another's freedon fighter."
Wrong.
Freedom fighters do not intentionally target innocent civilians. Terrorists are murderers, who use political and cultural beliefs as excuses to rape, destroy and murder in an attempt to frighten society to the point where the people in it rise up against themselves and destroy their own in an attempt to stop the terror.
Freedom fighters are those who fight against occupiers and conquerors. Not too much difference, I agree, but that difference is important.
The teenager who attacks and kills american soldiers who have occupied his country on the orders of the US president is a freedom fighter.
The shite who butchers women and children in the name of his religion is a terrorist.

The fact is that the piece of garbage Stan wrote of would quite happily butcher your loved ones in front of your eyes before murdering you as well, and characterizing such filth as "freedom fighters" only serves to allow more slaughter in the name of whatever creed they happen to believe that day.

Jim, I am pointing out that we all read into poems whatever we do. Or not. It's the way we *interpret* poetry as well as war and peace. Is peace the absence of war? When the husband stopped beating his wife? It's quite subtle sometimes.

Is peace what results when war is fought and won? My point is this: there will always be unrest
as long as justice is denied. And I allege that there are brutal soldiers of fortune who enter the military for that purpose as well as good people who turn into monsters from the effects of war,
and some probably are *sick* in mind or soul before during or after.c

The terrorists that Stan writes about are often very young people whose families have been *collateral damage*, orphaned and alone, the hate already in evidence, and great *targets* for those whose purpose is to recruit *martyrs*.. it doesn't take much to turn them into
*terrorists* for the cause and then die. The 72 virgins are a bonus.

I do not condone their activities. I am propeace, which is a bit different in nature from anti-war.
However, I do what I can to call attention to the thinking patterns that cause wars, even poetic wars of words.

~A

Everybody still seems to miss that the terrorist in my poem is the one who recruits and then manipulates others into doing the deed which he is too cowardly to do himself. My definition of a terrorist is anybody of any religion who INTENTIONALLY targets civilians to further his cause. Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist. I kind of doubt he was a follower of Islam. All wars result in "collateral damage". The terrorists we are presently trying to stop often launch attacks from behind civilian shields. a true warrior attempts to limit civilian deaths, not increase them.

By your definition, the state of Israel is a terrorist. Not a few handfuls of recruits.. Then the United States of America is a terrorist for *ALLOWING* 9/11.

Talk to an architect, tell me if there is an implosion or an explosion. http://www.ae911truth.org/

I digress and so apologize.

But I'm getting tired of folks thinking the best of our country when at least we should be open-minded enough to weigh the evidence....pro and con.

Besides Stan, since when has the majority military grunts (the front lines unless they're commandos, Navy seals, etc.) in this country been kids other than the poorest who have little choice to *see the world* and to *get a paid education* but in the military...as the commercials go.

I'm reminded of your words Stan, that if you were placed on moderation, or banned you would *deserve it*...as if the AEC is *infallible*. Me thinks you need a refresher course in humanity 101.

~A

When civilians attack , they cease being civilians. I think you know you won't change my political positions and I know I won't change yours. What say we just forget politics and go back to poetry...........:) stan
