"A CRUCIFIXION"

"A CRUCIFIXION"
Margaret Ann Waddicor 1st May 2011.

Asphyxiation
crucifixion
persecution
excruciating
words that sear the flesh of life
and bring our death

brief moments
troubled minds can see
these sights of pain
and fear

as flashing through the mind
a vile derision
visions that storm the calm
the peace

and drive the spirit of the day
to cease its sun
become so dark and gloomy
as to wake the Devil from his lair
and sound the last of trumpet wails
along the waves of winds from icy north

a strangle hold
as ropes
a froth of foamy seas
seize
drown our simple lives
in fissures of disease
in accidents that fail
to please our kin

this world of chance
of fate then
if you will
is still a game
where battles personal and tamed
are won
or lost

inevitable volleys of sounds
that breathe the breath of singed desires
casts the soul in deeper mires
and tramples joys
is there
if you let them in.

Brilliant! And I love the culmination:

inevitable volleys of sounds
that breathe the breath of singed desires
casts the soul in deeper mires
and tramples joys
is there
if you let them in.

I wouldn't change one word of this!

always, Cat

Oh thank you Cat, you are the only one to pass this way it seems, I like to hear from you too as you have some nice poetry here, I am not good at commenting on all I see and as you know have certain ones I do comment on because of certain things!!! But if I feel I cannot say so much in the way of help etc, I stay silent rather than make a banal remark.

Love and thank you from Ann.

...in that sometimes you feel it would be so much better if you could just stay silent, and give the person a slow smile. But as words don't really work to convey such things, especially, for some reason, if you don't write them. Let me then just say this...

:)

I like it!
Well, it does make one thoughtful, as most poetry does. But still, you get the idea.

Unknown silent one(!) I like your slow smile, what tomes lie in it ! Yes I like to make people thoughtful and poetry has the ability to awake thoughts that are no necessarily to do with the poem but that have a value too.

And its questions are put forth without answers.

Thank you mysterious person love Ann.
