The sun lights the darkness,
The rain cleanses the earth,
As we too make the journey,
With death there is birth.
Bitter sweet memories,
Unfinished dreams,
Incomplete promises,
Life just seems cruel and mean.
It does not matter their age,
It is hard to let go,
Knowing as you hold their hand,
No longer does energy flow.
But somewhere out there they have a purpose,
In that we must trust,
They were needed elsewhere,
Not condemned to just dust.
Maybe a new angel,
Was needed in the sky,
One to watch over my shoulder,
As I try not to cry.
Either way,
It brings me peace,
No pain, No hurt,
Just ease.

If this was my poem this is how i'd write it, hope this helps and i have'nt went to far.A heartfelt welcome to neopoet. Regards Roscoe..

Our sun lights darkness,
and rain cleanses the Earth.
As we also make a journey,
with death there comes birth.

Bitter sweet memories,
unfinished dreams
Incomplete promises,
lifes cruel, mean, or so it seems.

It does not matter the age,
it's hard to let go.
As you hold their hand knowing,
lifes energy does no longer flow.

Somewhere out there, a purpose,
in that we must trust.
Hope they were needed,
no just turned to dust.

Maybe a new angel,
was wanted for our sky.
Watching over my shoulder,
as i'm trying not to cry.

Either way,
it brings peace.
No pain no hurt,
just release.

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.

This poem was a hard one to digest but very thought out feelings placed to pen here. I feel your sadness and I am also holding someones hand that is so close to me and know that when he goes to sleep for the last time I will fall to my knees in grief and love all in one. This poem really touched me this morning if I may so say so now.

Nice to read you once again

Thanks for the comments. I used the same beginning in another one of my poems.
