Nazi Commie Yellow Terrorists

Fear not Nazis,
for they are fools and nearly extinct.

Fear not Commies under your bed,
McCarthy's vile invention has been exposed.

Fear not the Yellow Peril,
for they are you, or your neighbour.

Fear not terrorists,
just the last in a long list of lies
for fear ascribed
to freedom proscribed
by the Patriot Act.

Fear the fear that governs.

Though on a personal note,
I fear none of that.
I piss in its general direction.

Dogs pissing at heaven,
Or something like that in a Zen poets words,
I've forgotten where.

I am not fond of the use of words like Commie in poetry,
somehow discriminating, I do not like discrimination,
however horrid the theme.
I discriminate against those who discriminate.
Oh golly do many dis-crimes.
I have said next to nothing better leave it...?

but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

I am an anarcho-syndicalist, which is a bit like socialist anarchism.
Communists had the best of humanitarian motives, it just didn;t eventuate, it became state totalitarianism instead. Ah well.

As we evolve as a species we may yet get it right.

Goddamn COMMIES.
McCarthy was RIGHT.
And that Yellow Peril is EVERYWHER-

OH.
Sorry.

I was just having a Conservative American Bullshit Moment, and forgot myself.

heehee.

I like this one, the sentiments are truth. I particulalrly like the Patriot Act lines...our goverment just failed to extend the Patriot Act by seven votes yesterday, which is a good victory, for us here in the States.
Of all the stanzas, only the first is unsettling, to me. Nazis, near extinct in the rest of the world, still thrive in the USA. Freedom of speech, and all that, although I cannot for the life of me understand how banning Nazis makes one less free.

Fear fear that governs

spoken like a true anarchist...I bow.

maybe : fear the fear that governs would read easier...................scribbler

only cririque i would offer is that
fear the fear that governs
reads easier to me, and
making it 'the fear' as opposed to just "fear",
seems a stronger statement

i piss in its general direction (no apostrophe in its)
is a great last line for this piece

and may i say in return,
(grateful nod to the python team)

"...your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"

cheers

changes made.

Wouldn't if anyone would pick up the python reference.

I like this. A citizen's rant against the establishment, well written and too erudite to crit. by me.

As Chairman Mao said:

"political power comes from the caramel off a bun." or something like that.

Good write, Jess

I'm reminded of one of my favourite of my poems:

Warrior Poet

Once again I am ostracized
and placed in juxtaposition

shall I choose?

between the swan's neck on
a kitchen guillotine,
the Marbled Murrelet and
the Pai Dong Long Neck People?

shall I insinuate myself amoung
the rushes and reeds and save
one starving child while holding close
to my warm breast the last pale butterfly?

how shall I oblige my warrior friend,
shall I speak to the rivers of ruby light
between the redwood pines?

shall I fall silent, like an absent wolf
under a full moon?

shall I howl, a banshee in a southern comfort wind,
carry
the screams of a burning wildflower?

~A

a late thought on re-reading

last stanza, second line ...perhaps,

"i fear none of that" ................sounds a stronger, bolder!
more convincing statement

cheers
p

yes, you're right, change made, thanks p.

that the only "Yellow Peril", is the piss that is being aimed in every direction. LOL When we start being a truly global community, well....~ Gee

There is value to commenting and critique, tell us how you feel about our work.
This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

I wouldn't change a thing with this write, I half smiled because it's things human's all think but would rather be a bleeding heart liberal than to let anyone else hear it...course I'd say it but then I get into trouble a lot that way lol. Nice write Jess.

Chez

by "bleeding heart liberal" than what Americans do. They use the term to refer to anyone who is active in supportive socialist change in society.
