Depersonalizing *Personal* Attacks ~ Part 2
Ok. So now we have gathered some information. What exactly personalizes a remark?
I offer one word which has three letters: *YOU*. You are better off dead. You are an idiot. You don't know your arse from a hole in the ground. That's one side, the one we don't want to hear. Now how
about the other side? (The parentheses, of course is an implication, established in dialogues between
oneself and the other.)
YOU are a great poet (and YOU are not). YOU are my friend (and YOU are not). I love YOU (and I don't love YOU).... etc. etc. etc. .
However, between those two sides of the parentheses is the *core* of the issue: *Me* *Myself* and *I*.
And, of course, which side *YOU* find yourself on.....by implication, overt or covertly. Sometimes it's very subtle and there are folks who can read between the lines.
