A Bad Day in Iraq (New forms)

On the morning walk
Birds sing, cool breezes touch me
The world is at peace

My home here will protect me
My God walks with me today

Come my children gather near
The sound of the guns is nothing to fear
We shall walk much further today
A black flag flying it’s coming our way

Renga 9 "Hatred's Legacy"

I hate hate to death
the United States warships
in my home harbour,
skinheads and conservatives
make me hate me for hating.

Hatred breeds unrest
the soul is blinded from truth
the mind is troubled
it leads one to the dark path
which will end in true despair

Hatred starts more wars
between race and religion
down through centuries
regardless of well wishers
outcome is blood guilt and death

(Here's the edited form)

The young knight stood tall,
His heart filled with pride
for he has been chosen
to be the dragon slayer

He rode on his horse,
fully clad in steel armor,
cloaked in all grandeur.
hailed as the great warrior

When the time came for battle,
the knight cried, "Onward my steed!"
but his horse lose its mettle
and fled from the dragon, it did!

The Wedding Poem

Just to be happy is all you need
not dreams of ambition or desire to succeed.

Just to be happy always caring and kind
with love in your heart and peace in your mind.

Just to be happy in a warm embrace
no need to be cool or win any race.

Just to be happy no grey skies above
the sun always shining down on your love.

Just to be happy your whole life through
Sharing true love, the way that you do.

t i n n e d

wan light
rosehip tea
the clock strikes
the house
is silence
in its mind
the bell
stops its shrill
ringing
of the clocks
face
head

the dreams
come and go
dreamer aloud
speaking
is it a cabaret
a horror
a romance

the tinned
landscape
i know
for me

dreaming awake
exhausted
my tinned thoughts
like paper slips
and cigarettes
keep away
like rain

summoned
like sleep
for some

PARIAH

On some late nights when sleep won't come
I hear those restless rattling chains
from deep recesses I keep numb,
where the banned one still remains.

He's set loose only in my dreams
where his madnesses won't hurt anyone.
There he strikes and victim screams
and havoc reigns until he's done.

But there were also those real times
from my youth so long ago
when rage led to bloodshed, almost crimes
each time the monster was let go.

Lost...

She dresses for his eyes alone
He's thirty, rich and handsome
Well-heeled and drives the latest steed
Right-side of tracks, is where he's from

All eyes upon her entrance
She walks the runway of the street
“ I am the queen of drama;
the best you'll ever meet”

Her entourage, smile or sneer,
depending on her mood
She waves her hand; as if to steer
through the crowd of crude

I SHAN'T SAY GOODBYE;;;the undiscovered

I SHAN'T SAY GOODBYE
YOU know why there is none awaiting to be read the undiscovered list between
Rula and me
is dead you had promised but never read
Esker
fell in line but found nothing to mine so did
Alid tis all fine that ends with all pins nine
Ian,
epicurial or not lest we all forgot
Stan has no poetic fever on his behalf we did deliver and now
Undiscovered
ones have no liver
ALL
go and see if you still don't believe me
Loved
has proved his worth

Russia and Ukraine

Russian separatists
Bombs bursting in Ukraine
Plane shot down from the skies
Ukrainians shudder, brace up for war.

Convoy of humanitarian aid
Ukrainians dismayed, draw suspicions
Since when, do enemies offer aid to their victims.

Decades of Dishonour

Decades of Dishonour,

We stick a poppy in our coats,
then tell stories of the brave.
Might as well have cut their throats,
if it’s murder that we crave.

I watch this human charade,
all with medals on their chest.
A bloody claim so falsely made,
might as well wear a string vest.

None of those celebrating were keen,
to stand entrenched with the men.
How different it might have been,
if we could visit hell again.
