Hating the Sin

There was Death in the air,
not mine, not yours
but it was Death's time for certain.

I can still smell it,
the sweet fade of your skin;
hear the ice crack like soft blown glass
beneath your feet as you rap at my window,
step through my door.

There's a wrongness about us.
Yet, hearts beat like drums pre-war
then you lie on me as the softest snow
does the hardened earth.

warm my hands to a toaster

woke up in a dream
pouring like the rain
swallowed in the drains

but then

searching for salvation
spooning out my ration
twist cap sour cream

and always

shivering with the cold
walls have caught the mould
you exist move swift like a team

forever

..

ISIS

Convert now, leave town or die
intolerant barbarians demand
and do so in their god's name
the falsely righteous fools
insecure in their beliefs.

How else explain their lack of faith
that their Book can't stand beside others?
Need it really be protected
by isolation.
ideological walls,
machine guns,
THEM?

Small rivers flow

I am a small river
in the midst of this vast universe

so I needn't compare myself with you
nor your verse

but remember friends we can be
at best at worse
till we both with the ocean immerse
and

are lost in the oblivion of time

none shall know what happened
to your ashes or mine
time alone will reveal
some day two jokers you and me
had laughed a while this way

A Morph Poem (edited)

I stand upon the cliff Confusion
and ponder whether I should leap.
Does Clarity have any purpose
or am I lying to myself again?

The Manic in me rears its head
and I produce in fits and starts,
but soon depression will be all
and I will seek Confusion in the drink.

W H O R L Z I T E R

BANG the bump baby
grind the juke
and snort the junk
you stand in your skaters
at the edge
knowing that the ledge
you wont make it

in your nightshade crosses
and tailored
excesses

admit it your lost

but deep in pockets
in baggies and twine
throw that cheap gutter
bottle
and dial an emotion
get in and ride
and we can hit a plateau
and feel fine
slip out of the hour

Yet like a river

you will live on still
cleaning up the sides of the hill
be it so
we all love you
the river must merge with the sea
as it will

but it's a long way yet
the river has to see many a bend
to no end
and
then the sands will reach the shore
later the water will be again made pure

the clouds of happiness will rise again
the cycle will complete
alas not in vain
till then await the next train

TIME

TIME

Raging water falling
from my fingers.
carried away by Time's madness
relentless and unforgiving
nothing to grab onto.
memories betray
voices still
a lifetime swept into
indifference

Tolerance

At the edge of madness
A deadly silence
Within consciousness.
Pain is great
Knees buckling.

The burden of trying
And trying true
Only to fail
Breeds anger.
Fear not death
Life alone.

Still I bide my time
For fate to let go
Maybe even with hope
However vain a notion it is.
But be vigilant
Oh prey
Seeking place to start flame.

Justice Is Dead

My day was filled with sadness
The pain of depression has me down
It's taking control of my happiness
I'm slowly losing my ability to walk
Sigh! It's no fun either.

A new video has surface
Another unarmed black man shot
surrounded by police with rifles drawn
wrangles in pain while dying in a pool of blood.
