The Visitor

By: Mary Beth Magee

You visit for a moment,

Accept a breath of hospitality,

Then dash away again.

You share your company briefly.

But in that time, oh,

The magic you bring.

From tiny eggs to instars

To gloriously patterned wing.

I watched you hatch and crawl,

Grow, shed and wriggle.

You change your dress. Your

New look makes me giggle.

You give me joy and delight

With your aerial ballet.

My royal friend, magician,

Harlequin at play,

Dear monarch, share your gift

Of grand, exuberant joy

With all. Give us eyes to

See, and feelings to employ.

You set an example

Of living in the moment.

Let us live so our days

Are likewise spent.

Dash on, my friend,

Your destiny calls.

Send your children my way

When the milkweed grows tall.

Spring Comes

By: Candlewitch

Fields of springy clover

beneath my barefoot toes,

dance-happy feet kick up

a delight everyone knows!

Green, green all around,

a heart full of joys untold

rolling over and over in

nature's paradise hold!

In gardens of my growing hopes

tulips, buttercups and crocus

flourish healthily blossoming,

as Spring comes into focus.

All eyes on me

Just so beautiful...

eyes are windows
through which you see...
they also show...
smile across the window...
all passersby will know...
that empty eyes love do blow

let all know
the eyes when they glow
or the final word they
all know

whistle me not,
no more
my eyes now don’t see nor show
and
all light has gone
like the whistling wind
all must know

Confession of A Cheese Addict

My romance with cheese
started in my youth,
eating sandwich in peace,
it keeps my spirit aloof.

One bite and my heart is taken,
my taste buds do so agree.
It feels like the bliss in heaven,
is reaching out to touch me

It blends well in pizzas,
it tastes good, eaten with rice.
It brings beauty to lasagnas
It's irresistable, I'm hooked for life!

I can never get enough of it,
this I do confess!
Call me a fan, an addict,
I couldn't care less!

Deaf, Blind, and Mute (edited)

version 2 (the edited version)

If we could speak,
we'd tell
how bad it is
to smell
corpse's remnants
left down
to rot under walls
broken.

If we could listen,
we'd tell
how woeful it is
to hear
children's laughter
shelled with bombs
and in cold blood
stolen.

If we could see,
we'd tell
how many tears
and more fears
are yet to born
while innocent dreams
fallen.

FHALLION

falling
bitter
tested angry

this wretch
this crutch

the shattered
table
this light with
its touch

how i hated
how i waited
and now
arrivals
landing

like rains of darkness
filling up the screwed up
years
a life full of boxes
and dress shirts
of summer

the pockets of
bus slips
receipts and all
the numbers
of the lookers
and the gawkers

the looters and the
jackals

Middle East in America

Palestinian neighbors Post to twitter
about America's racial conflict
twitter tips to deal with tear gas
dispersed in Ferguson Missouri.

Peaceful protest turned war zone
media detained harassed for no reason
police, riot officers, swat team, military trucks
it's like Middle East fighting in America.

The president has been brief
Militarized county police
Protestors chant
Tear gas and rubber bullets fired
Molly cocktail become fire bombs
War zone in Ferguson

State police take charge

A TRIBUTE TO ROBIN WILLIAMS 1951-2014..COMEDIAN

Oh my love
The days flash by
We are always stayed side by side
now in the distant memory
gone with the wind
are those days gone by
when side by side in love we did lie

remembrance of lovers
who once lived now flies
the world of wilderness
slower comes around
the voice of the angel
is now not to be found.

THE REPRIEVE

Can I stop
to listen -
I mean really listen
to the stillness of breath
Can I look -
I mean really look
at the swaying silhouettes of trees
choreographed
on the walls of my mind
Can I summon -
I mean really summon
enough energy, patience
and strength
to swim out against the surging
tides
of quotidian concerns
and sensual proclivities
in order to
deconstruct
detoxify
and demystify
the language
of silence
frozen into icicles

Red Lipped Lover

Hey there
Red lipped lover,
You say
You don’t got time
To be at my side,
Hopeless lies,

But you,
End up somewhere every time
And call me every night,
To go cry on my shoulder,
Hopeless lover,

I said,
I don’t have time
You said,
I wanna be right at your side
Hold me under bright lights,
Hopeless nights,

Because,
I left all our lights back home,
Left you all alone

No one to pull that dress a little higher
My Red Lipped Lover.

A lioness cub morphed

The cubs in a den of lions, this world
eaten alive by mighty warriors, police
the lioness cry out in vain for the life of her cub.

Hearts formed rigid ice crystals stood by
as mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, cousins,
aunts, uncles and friends wrangle in agony
at their loved one's lifeless body laid in the streets for hours.

F–ing animals they're called
Their peace turned injustice
In an instance shots fired
Cub down, shot dead in compliance.

A killer seen

Jack Sparrow here, let me tell you
I escaped from him, I tell a story true
He was killing a couple I heard the screams
A nightmare of horrid dreams

I crept up to see what was going on
He spied me before very long
He let out a cry that froze my gait
Advancing on me so full of hate

He stopped about ten feet away
My blood froze at what I saw that day
I had brought my double barrelled gun
I would show him that it was no fun
