A Kyrielle (April Contest)

When queried as to where I live,
I ponder not and always give
an answer I’ve prepared to say ~
that “Heaven’s not so far away.”

May God have mercy on us all,
for we’ve been haunted since The Fall,
but I am grateful every day
our Heaven’s not so far away.

My home, my life is paradise.
I live in grace and pay no price,
for with my wife as we turn grey
my Heaven’s not so far away.

jadgged Edges

I run my fingers over jagged edges
and look to you
as if to say
this is alright
as you stand there
watching me bleed

if only, my darling
you could see
what i see
oh open your eyes
and look

FOR I AM GREAT'
and why should i not be
is it not ok
to feel like a god
is it a sin
to feel unshakable
indestructible beauty
and truth

Only LOVE

why tell lies
I am a cynosore
of many an eye...
my eyes see
nothing beyond beauty...

why tell lies..
I love bees ... birds.. animals ...gals and guys ..

why tell lies
they all love me too ...
why shouldn't they...

but love is sublime ..
for those who are divine...
we all love with our hearts superfine ..

why tell lies
some day may be in another incarnation ...
together we may get to gather...
but till then why bother ...
we won't know one from another...

I Must Have Drank Too Much Ambrosial Wine

I must have drank too much ambrosial wine
and fallen fast asleep, I must have dreamed:
I walked among the clouds, God at my side
an angel led with a lantern like a star
and all the world was dark beneath my feet.

Heaven was cold and void, an empty chapel
that carried our footsteps through its
vacant corridors, our voices echoed like
the thousand ghosts that came for mass.
The organ played itself, the windows smoked
with incense as prayers rise from purgatory.
It was a requiem for my soul, God said.

Oh Lord, have Mercy on Me

From this sea of humanity
when I would seek tranquility
Oh Lord, please have Mercy on me
I pray to be a humble bee

While I flirt around maiden heads
singing songs of your divine grace
to sip their nectar in sheer glee
I pray to be a humble bee

Gliding merry in wind and rain
to scatter potent pollen grain
Oh Lord please have mercy on me
I pray to be a humble bee

Looking up to my next abode
in search of the immortal code
to be what i would love to be
I pray to be a humble bee

THE DARK SIDE OF THE SUN edit

THE DARK SIDE OF THE SUN

There is no bright and sunny sky
to look upon.
There is no pretending when
the end is near
and there is no memory
that makes it easier
no medicines, no prayers, no dreams
to take away the pain and fear.

Suddenly you turn around to see
that you've disappeared
and anguish for the times
you were you

When all is gone that you knew
there is no way to start over again
a stranger in a strange world
waiting to end,

to my dog (april contest)

.
It matters not I am unwise
I see acceptance in your eyes
I find my strength - your faith, you see
reflects the me I want to be

believing I can do no wrong
with adoration, pure and strong
your trusting soul implicitly
reflects the me I want to be

I see it when I speak to you
true devotion from someone who
so worshipful and wordlessly
reflects the me I want to be

you hold me in such great esteem
conviction in your love redeems
belies my past stupidity
reflects the me I want to be

A Warrior's Prayer (April's Contest)

When courage dies in hearts of Man
and blood is shed across the land
My God, to You I bow and pray
Be You the light that shows my way

I asked of You to save my soul
and let my blade be firm and bold
to kill the beasts that come to prey
Be You the light that shows my way

Just let me dance with all my will
to slay my foes who wished me ill
Against the odds, I will not stray
Be You the light that shows my way

Shill

surly dampened purity
svelte sweet tonality
in the personality of
tensile pressure
footstep measure

concubine moon
ovid bath
tides sluggish sway
cupped water embraced

brows tested in hot
damp easy structure
forms arched
mouth parted
philtrum thwarted moist

bulb shimmer pulse glow
in urban bloc palatial
row
a poverty chance

slake a charged mercurial
nymph whipped medusa
drape crown pressed
on wingback ghostly
waiting branch

BEFORE SLEEP COMES

The spring wind is in the eaves tonight
and it moans a solitary sound
while I sit beneath a reading light
listening to my old heart pound.

Sometimes I read on nights like this
after Susan's gone to bed
and while she's dreaming of some bliss
some author's tale fills up my head.

And other times I take my pen
to write of things I've said or done
not knowing when the tale will end
once the ink's flow has begun.
