The Visitor

By: Mary Beth Magee

You visit for a moment,

Accept a breath of hospitality,

Then dash away again.

You share your company briefly.

But in that time, oh,

The magic you bring.

From tiny eggs to instars

To gloriously patterned wing.

I watched you hatch and crawl,

Grow, shed and wriggle.

You change your dress. Your

New look makes me giggle.

You give me joy and delight

With your aerial ballet.

My royal friend, magician,

Harlequin at play,

Dear monarch, share your gift

Of grand, exuberant joy

With all. Give us eyes to

See, and feelings to employ.

You set an example

Of living in the moment.

Let us live so our days

Are likewise spent.

Dash on, my friend,

Your destiny calls.

Send your children my way

When the milkweed grows tall.

Spring Comes

By: Candlewitch

Fields of springy clover

beneath my barefoot toes,

dance-happy feet kick up

a delight everyone knows!

Green, green all around,

a heart full of joys untold

rolling over and over in

nature's paradise hold!

In gardens of my growing hopes

tulips, buttercups and crocus

flourish healthily blossoming,

as Spring comes into focus.

'''I could have danced all night''''

'''I could have danced all night''''

You help recall
Some one
who still lives in my heart
entered through a keyhole in my eye
as she did smile
and
her soft voice is of memory
just a wee part

I always smile
she left us all
seemingly for a while
but within my heart
left an indelible smile...

'''I could have danced all night''''

Still I hear
from the one
who was to most very dear

GUSHER

knead me
thread me with ur fingers
I am the eye of your attention
and the thread of your thoughts
and passion
The moon basks through
the blinds
coating us in its tiger stripes

U want to be soothed in massage
rough handed measure
bruises pulling
shoving and squeezing

From The Mist(Horror Story Workshop)

From The Mist

Ancient forests grew thick and tall
upon this forest a strange mist would fall
enshrouding all in a shimmering light
casting an eerie glow ,throughout the night

A creature emerges from the mist
with eyes ablaze as he spat and hissed
talons on the end of each sinewy hand
here the beast took it’s final stand

The rotten stench,of burning flesh
is interwoven in the mesh
of this ageless ones being
known by all,yet never seen

Dare bare her ....she says

Bare her she says

If only you added a smile
she shows her swollen eyes

you'd love to live bare
in beauty and style

others would longingly
at your body stare
and
or
but
of it be aware

this damned world
doesn't care
they lay you in their lair
thread bare

be aware
don't guys dare.....
they afterwards what happens
really don't care!

But don't get scared....

AFTER THE LOVING

Let me lay my head upon your breast
and feel the beat of your dear heart
slowly matching that within my chest
as the sweaty heat slowly departs.

Goose bumps dimple in the dark
while quickened breaths begin to slow.
A dog outside begins to bark
which won't affect the afterglow.

We'll talk of inconsequential things
and laugh of events in the past
and the honesty which old love brings
as facades fall away at last.

Destiny's Hand

Across chasms of time
our eyes may meet
love long unavailed
will pull at restraint

tomorrow must come
and an adamantium sky
ripples the aurora borealis
above my meager crown

My admiration lies in hidden smiles
as this burgeoning lust rolls all eyes
secreting the ties that bound us
I deny its velocity and validity

As Judas denied christ thrice
I deny us and what we once held
hanging trees of knowledge bloom
the truth is undressed and undenied

Knot no one

delicate the fresh caress
strawberries
like old rain
raising gooseflesh

Emergence of the zeal
cunning
cupped
undone
flanked by
rug burns
and cheap
skills

still the motor turns
humming the lullaby
to the shy

Hazy eyes
in stormy worn wear
scratch that itch
across a favorite
scar
Eyes glittering
Jubilant starz

...

your stare penetrates

You stare to kill

Your stare penetrates
deep within
any heart
any soul
you devour all
fully and whole
your stare strikes all
young and old

where in the wilderness
do you command
your hold
let all you behold!

Krawlen weather be it

serpent mind
ribs like knives
flexible as a cat o nines
the insect song
the heated weather
make meals of
the resting
the spice breath
the livid thud of
hot blood
in a constricted vein

the grasses are
weaving
ever so slow
in a slew of diamonds
tragic

stirring this way
the night comes
tongue tasting
with its darkness
lashing

tiger dreams
and a hush grip
unblinking moon
staring

....

Oh! Divorshient west

I am so Happy to see
another Canadian poet
is in love
aaaaaaaaaaaat 77Divorshient West!
married 55 years....

who says divorces
lead the western world?
