Off With His Head

I hear, next year, in Russia, a man will lose his head.
A surgeon's going to cut it off (the radio just said)
with full intent to transplant it (I heard with rising dread)
on someone else's body. I swear it's true, the aforesaid.

On hearing the statistics, my bottom jaw just dropped.
It's going to take him thirty hours, to bring about the swap,
with fifty and one hundred more assisting with the op.,
and once the action has begun, there'll be no chance to stop.

Recurrent Rhyku

Words that are sublime
An inspiring paradigm
Transcending our time

In the Glimmer

In the glimmer of light shining through the Texas Pines
I stand still near dusk aware of a presence a voice.
“Who are you?” I ask startled by the tone and choice

LA LA OH

moons like cream
the rivers wide
(prolli deep there baby)
windshields cleared
squeegee jockeys with
their bucket of blue
Brave ones dive in
but the tire iron beside
the emerg handle
deters the wickedly brave
Rolling Thunder
"Satisfaction" cranked
kicked out from the power
amp
custom install
Thumper II
wind whips the ragtop
sucks out the reefer
smoke bittersweet
clenched in whats left
of the teeth
Fuck em!
impala eatin' up the miles

Fo(u)r The Seasons:

Sprouting shoots of Spring
Nature’s bounty emerging
Anew beginning

Summer’s wind flowing
Celestial star’s orb glowing
Flowers are blooming

Drying leaves curling
Fall’s colours encompassing
Autumn abounding

Nipping air chilling
Grounded snow flakes whitening
Winter descending

B L E M I S H

here comes the winter
hold her hand
a pocket door souveneir
pasted to the flaw
white gold
white gold

silver bullets
shoot the moon
remember the
scent that hung
in the room
gnger snaps
and butterscotch
a bandage on a knee
seasons snoozing
the wind is wooring
like fresh graves
carefree

tinned things
needful eyes
watch alert
from the picture
snaps
the bureau
with the sticky drawer

I have better taste than god

impious shrimp
and lobster clans
parade through clouds
of salted sand
impervious to
a shirking god
they go forth
happy as clams

and multiply

oh! this foolish, tasteless god;
wasting bacon, and
forsaking arthropods for
milk and honey

REALLY?!

this mythical business
(and its proscriptive foods)
will never affect the way I dine
I'll write my own menu...thank you!
(sans phony-bologna
and watered wine)

In Memory of my Guru

She came just to inspire me
and has left
as a passing desert wind
a fast flowing river
flakes of snow
flying autumn leaves also
and
left all lights to glow
now there is left nothing more to show

She has left for some wonderland
where seeds of creativity
she will also sow
and my dearest poetic friend
I let her go
not because I had a choice or so
but she just wanted to go
with Times flow

Site error

Okay, this isn't a poem, but thought I'd better point out that poems and comments are posted, even though when you press publish or save it comes up with 'site error'.
So no need to repost thinking the system has lost you in cyber space. It hasn't, just a glitch, which I'm sure someone who can sort these things will pick up soon.
Cheers Jx

Mid Life Crisis

In the middle of my life, I awakened
My soul smelled of leather and brittle grass
Sun dried by loitering and simple inattention

The unseen currents from years of self absolution,
Trifling in each instance, but powerful when joined
Had secretly pushed me out to sea

How pitiful
To be convicted by mere common sense
Sent to stand in front of the jury in the mirror

How alarming
To come face to face
With the lazy liar that had stolen so much
