A Dark Joy

I see the glistening webs
that hold all together
till the last hour of darkness
I commune in silence

sleep being a stranger
I donned a gown,
I am a night walker
the velvet dark
calls to me

the wet grass
squelches between
my toes
the indigo sky
covers my wonder
I am home

shooting stars
and satellites pass
the stars begin
their dim and
a lone silhouette
moves in the
almost light

in the shadows
I bless the travellers
journey, wondering
who, where, why
knowing I will
never know

as the first ray of light
glances off the
morning dew
my first sound
in hours, is a gasp
of wonderment

again,
I can see the glistening
webs that hold all together
and my joy and peace
entwine around my heart

this sounds way too personal for me,or anyone to mess with until you feel satisfied that it expresses everything you wanted to say, and the way you wanted to say it.. Then, and only then, would I attempt a thorough critique, but only as a critic after the fact....this one you have to write totally on your own. No one can or should interfere. This is that kind of poem...n'est pas!!

I guess this one is intensely personal I tend to go off and write about where the muse takes me, I plan to edit this one in the next couple of days there is a little more I want to add to it. Thanks for the read and your thoughts

The night Walker you are, the words are lovely and the visions you are grated as you wander so, will rest your body as you sleep.
There are no changes that I would say, as this is from some place I cannot change and wouldn't try anyway..
The footprints are etched in the lawn of eternity, that we all can walk together,

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

I am a night person I get so much pleasure from the dark of the night. I have been like this since I was a little girl even when I was young I didn't sleep and I would sneak out into the back yard and gaze at the night sky while I sat on my swing. I was quite fearless as a little girl I found its only growing up and its only life that installs fear into us :)

thank you for your read and your thoughts I really appreciate them

in this poem you walk...
as in my poetry

a nude gal in her bathroom
her gown does drop

views myriad images of herself…
how youth gives way
from beauty to hell…

as she crumbles in dismay
why couldn't she forever stay…
a live rose till one is plucked
one day
some day

Thank you for your thoughts as usual they could be a poem, I appreciate the read and the comment. ;)

There is something amazing about the solitude of night - so still and quiet and yet full of mystery and wonder. The stillness of the night is a good time to contemplate life and who can not be awed by the beauty of the rising sun. ( your poem captures all of that so very well ).

The ending is positive and uplifting! It's really good to read your work again!

Keep writing.

I have been having trouble sleeping of late, so when everyone's asleep I slip outside, I love dark and stormy nights and I also love calm and clear nights there is something so magical about the darkness, and I am fascinated with the stars and what lies there, I love the sea and the surf and the sun but if I had to say ? I am a child of the night :)

thanks for reading and your wonderful comment its much appreciated

being where the heart is... I know the feeling well. The last time I came home from the hospital, I was tired and recuperating, but I couldn't sleep. I did much the same thing. I went out to the back yard with my dog Dancer and just sat there looking at the sky and feeling the outdoors and being at one with the world. I'm not much of a night-person these days. [Having to get up at 4:30 a.m.], makes it hard to stay up and wait for the dawn. I still get to see them, but by then, I am at work and better be looking at the traffic and not the sky. Lol. Love seeing you back and writing! Love ya, ~ Gee

There is value to commenting and critique, tell us how you feel about our work.
This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

There is nothing like being outside on your own at night, its a time of contemplation for me thinking about things and sorting through the rubbish that builds up in the daytime, As you probably know I am going back to have more surgery this month so I am sure there will be nights I want to go outside unfortunately I wont be able to hobble around for two or three weeks, so I guess the net and neo will be my home away from home for that time, I guess I will get lots more writing done I just wish I had more time at the moment there just seems to be so much going on, awww well I will get plenty of time after the op :)
I know you must miss your night time/mornings I still get them I stay up writing all night and then stay up all day only to fall into a coma the next night lol I am such a night bird I don't know why I do it to myself but I am charmed by the night what can I say
