Uluru (Ayres Rock) (Added to with more talks to Uluru)27-10-13.

I sped at all haste as you called my name
There in the sunrise your form came to me
It called out in colours that spoke in the quiet
The early morning rose, it started to bloom.

Creating a light of its own a word of life to come
I stood in awe of the beauty of its talking colours
Stand for me tall, it soothed as the rose opened
It showered my soul with abundant healing rays

The fingers of the sun seemed dull in waiting
Then changes came as the sun grew strong.
The rose became a giant supping sponge
Reflecting a joy to be aroused into the day

I ventured nearer to become part of the change
It embraced me as a part of its living soul
Speaking softly with the colours bouncing,
As I was lifted to the dream times of old

I am Uluru it whispered, as its strength grew
I bathe in the sunlight growing with you
I whisper to you in colours not yet seen.
The colours of a being are felt in the soul

I asked, take me to the dreams of yesteryear,
Where my family grew and I loved them so
Uluru spoke of them in their dreamtime.
They knew my light and grew in strength

Can you feel, that my life is as you are?
A soul that rests until it meets another.
That you can talk of dream times in colours
You are welcome to be at one with me

I thanked Uluru sat down and waited
It was as if I was being painted in dreams
Each moment held me, then was absorbed
I was lifted through many dream times.

Times came and the day grew long
I was so full of colour it ached my being
I will take this part with me great Uluru.
At which I flew swiftly to my awareness.

Fare ye well, great Monolith of the plains.
I shall try with my ways to honour you,
A whisper so faint that it caressed me
The colour said you are my child.

But wait young Spirit draw closer
Uluru draped its cloak around me
Times of deep thought are coming
A balance of the two worlds seen

Walking toward me were my friends
Friends and Family of past ages
Drawn by our talk bearing news
Not needing to ask questions of me

Bringing the feelings of the years
The beliefs and disbeliefs of many
Clothed in the darker colours of need
There an old Aborigine stepped out

Dream times are for everyone he said
Pushing away the drabness with a rainbow
Walk with me, talk in Uluru's shadow
There are many ways to feel it is a need

He drew a colourful picture in my mind
Of Gum trees a place where a soul was held
“Why do you show me just one soul?” I asked
“It’s a worry to you that needs changing” he replied.

“It portrays all worries held by man as they walk
Questions as to what next and where to go
It is a leap of faith that is no ones to need
You will all join me no matter what you are”

“Thank you” came to mind, and he smiled.
“It’s where understanding finds a new home.
That final journey will bring you near to me.
Here between your ways and mine you will see.

My family and friends all gathered around.
They spoke to my mind in many ways
Colours holding emotions in waves
Laughter vibrating delicate structures

Nothing felt as touch, just another way
Love bouncing around blazing away
All these things accepted in my mind
The old man spoke clearly and softly to me

There is nothing you can change here
This has always been the way of this eternity
Worry not of things to be as you Journey
It is written as if in stone how we travel.

The others faded into Uluru’s arms
The old man took his leave of me
Yet even though he took his leave
He remained with me as I also left.

Uluru is there as before, just a point
This where the senses can be focused
If it were not Uluru standing there
It would be something else just as great..

What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
Is the internal logic consistent?
Last few words:
From Feb 2011 seemed a good time to re-stream as Our lady of the North was talking of Australia. I have now carried on talking to the Spirits there in passing and it is an addition to the original..

I recall I read this before maybe when you were posting in the Refuge. Or is it another in the same theme?
I didn't know about the Uluru or the "Ayres Rock" until I googled. I think it merited this nice tribute. I especially liked the use of personification and the intimate conversation between you and the uluru.
Nothing to suggest for improvement, but it would be great if you find a substitution to some clichéd
word(s) like the "ball of the sun". Just a thought.
Thanks for sharing.

It is one of the hardest things to write of feelings, where you stand before something so beautiful and so loved by thousands of years.
You can try as hard as you like in words but I can only scratch the surface.
My screen saver is Uluru, and it is a place that I would love to see, just to sit there and be absorbed by the sheer energy it has.
Thank you for your comment I have changed a few words but if there is anything obvious please let me know, Many thanks again,
Yours as always, Ian.T

Hello Ian!
what a splendid eulogy this is ... Particularly liked the closing verse!
"Fare ye well, great Monolith of the plains.
I shall try with my ways to honour you,
A whisper so faint that it caressed me
The colour said you are my child."

Mant thanks for your visit, I am glad that you liked this one, I thought I would repost it as it was two years ago since writing it.
It still needs work doing to it but I will not be able to keep up with things if they were all corrected.
I wrote this as if I was there sitting on the ground where I could see and enjoy the colour changes as does the mood of the universe.
You take care, I have re posted a copy of your Haiku as it was perfect in its form, so you go put it back as finished,
Yours Ian.T

On another note... for the reminder of Ayer's Rock - as I know it! I have now set it as my background on the laptop! Awesome in the "real" sense of the word!
Hope to see it someday!
Best.

I couldn't believe you have even been there if not for the stanza

I thanked Uluru sat down and waited
It was as if I was being painted in dreams
Each moment held me, then was absorbed
I was lifted through many dream times.

The poem conveys the beauty but none of the power and sheer alien indifference that Uluru represents to me. But you are an old man, with much encompassing compassion, perhaps you overlooked its anger and indifference. So you are more likely right than me.

cheers,
Jess

I haven't seen Uluru, I have it as my screen saver and I have heard so many stories of it's power over those that have walked there.
The power and arrogance of such a monolith, is driven by those that honour it.
I hope you will forgive a red neck for assuming so much.
From all I have heard and felt from others it was just a write young Jess.
Another Spirit challenge as my Rainbow Serpent which I have never seen.
You are so lucky that you can go on walk about for real, I just have to reach out with my mind.
If I stand still outside Uluru is just under my feet..
Take care Jess am thinking of you as always, Yours, Ian
