dragons in the sky

floating on air
weightless thought
inhale to the tops of my lungs
i count the dragons in the sky
rain sparkling in sunlight
feel the magic gliding on my skin

a cloud's touch like fine silk
the fairies sing their lullaby
i drink the golden dew from the petals of wild flowers
fresh honey and blooming lilac
scents that remind me of home

laying in soft grass
reaching for the gentle blue sky
butterflies land on the tips of my fingers
this whimsical wonderland
far, far away

daydreams of which there are many
make this world a mystery
fireflies hover about me
flashing their light
making a starry sky inches away
i make a wish on each

i wish to never grow old,
i wish for a mountain of gold,
i wish i could fly,
i wish to never ever die

my final wish
simply sweet
i wish to take this memory,
a dragon's scale,
a fairy's wings,
and a lightning bug's glow

i will save the magic
lock it away
so i can recall it
and keep for a rainy day

I like it as it is, but as you've asked about the title I think you need something more sentimental to lable your piece unless it has a special meaning I've missed.
All in all, I believe your poetry is pretty more mature for someone of your age.
Thanks for sharing and keep it up

Maybe it is only me but I feel that there is a gap between the start and where you go into the depth of thought for this one, could the wishes be brought in with the early stanzas??? Saying I wish I could be or do ???
Loved it all the same just felt there was a detachment there, Yours Ian.T

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” — W.B. Yeats

I too am one who loved this, I feel the celebration of life shining around me as I read, like the eyes of wonder in the child being told a fairy tale, you catch the lights and visions cast through nature and crystallise them into poems, like the snow flakes each one glinting as it falls to the page, or into the mind of the reader.

Lovely moment,
Love Ann.

P.S. And I KNOW from this that you will never grow old, you cannot. :)

but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.
