Yeah Paddy’s Day is on its way
The time when alcoholics come out to play
Wear your green with pride they say
But I often hang my head with shame
on this supposedly great day
For every Paddy, Mick and Dick
Will be out acting the tick
A night on the town
Will only get me down
As people, their sorrows, they attempt to drown

St. Patrick’s Day is on its way
Hip Hip Hooray
‘Cos all the entertainers come out to play
The bands the floats
The clowns in their funny coats
The kids they laugh
As parents photograph
Anxieties fade
As we watch the parade
Sunny or rainy, dry or wet
it will lift your spirits on that you can bet
You can’t help but smile
at the Irish style
we laugh so hearty
we certainly know how to party
No matter what,we’ll give a good time a shot
perhaps more when there’s less money in the pot
