THE SOUNDS OF LONELNESS

The Sounds of Loneliness

voices whispering memories
of times long forgotten
dancing with fading shadows
in nightmare dreams
no touch of love
no recognition

walking through empty rooms
the cold side of the bed
no breath to warm your neck
no arms to hold you
from your fears.

the dread
that morning silence bringa
and a heart that sinks
ever deeper
each day

It is hard when you are part time in the life of others , each commited to someone or soemthing else. My disease has crippled me amd my world is limited. I never depended on the "kindness of strangers"" but I do now.

You have a gentle heart as do I, but there is a sprit in us that transcends the pain. To cry is not a sign of weakness; it is smply a momentary acquiescence of a reality. But no one cries forever

love to you from Joe

Beautifully written as usual, but there you go again writing about the dark side of feelings.
Is there not a light for you to head for in your years of being, surely you must have some faith in what you have done in your life, where one day as the evening closes in, you will be able to embrace your God, or whatever, with a love of all things, Yours Ian.T

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

I know who I am and am content with that. But the "dark timies"come when you've lost yourself somewheree in the pain and the alienation that pain briings. I live alone and manage to survive with little or no help. But thei isolation isthe pain rhat is most difficult to vercome.

Jess, would have a field day for all this "whining" lol

I am sorry that you have to bear these things alone, I suppose a pain is the same even when shared. We can only support you as we can and me I send healing thoughts to you and have asked some of the helpers to attend and make things easier..
Take care young Joe and Know we think of you, Yours Ian.T

''''voices whispering memories
of times long forgotten.....'''

this happens to me all the time
though I am still surrounded
not lonely
but distinctly alone
yet I persevere
as we all have to face today
all alone...

Sometimes the angst of isolation and alienation is most acute when one is in a crowd.

It's all in the mind isn't it?
And how well I understand the vigour of your poem,
its riposte at life's injustices, its power of persuading
the writer of the fact that there are other ways of living,
other people who live oblivious of the pain some go though.

I too wrote in this way when feeling a kind of desperation,
an anger at being smitten with the dreaded cancer,
and to rant a little about it can slightly lessen the burden
of it, for a while, until the full realisation of the dilemma,
clocks in again, causing more wounds to open, when we
would they did not.

but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

I know how much you do understand of me, Annì
