No Silver Sermon

No Silver Sermon

I stood in his house feeling the weight of age,
as he assumed knowledge of where the dead go
His insincerity rekindled my youthful rage.
why can’t we just end this demeaning show.

There is no god to strike me down,
when I refute his religious clown.
In all the storms I gladly go drown,
than board an Ark that bares his crown.

So now you understand or perhaps feel,
that you have gotten to know of me.
I can only have faith in what is real,
judgement will always be made,
on what I can see.

His temples stretch throughout our lands,
empty but one day as is his to command.
Fits in with their greedy well greased hands,
houses would tumble if he had not so planned.

Clever man this god the rich have gotten,
he can rake in the coin with the very best.
Unless like me, you feel there’s something rotten,
about this house of god we’re not allowed to test.

Test this house’s iron, test it’s true worth,
throw down a challenge of purest good will.
we must treasure life each and every new birth,
let nothing but mother nature be allowed to kill.

Put forward this word all men of our new teaching,
religion has squared away all it’s monetary needs.
No sword or callipers or men with aprons reaching,
for another’s wealth, or health, now everyone succeeds.

you use inconsistencies in form to powerful effect.

But I especially love your ideological poems.

Jess, i just came across this as i was reading through some poems, i don't keep records of what i post and come across poems i think i may have already posted, So i always check i don't put in a poem i've already posted, and that's when i came across this. After my long winded explanation, thank you for your words of encouragement. Regards Roscoe...

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.
