pretti escort footsteps
past the tall church eskrow
the black limbed forever hinges
of streetlights and rainkiss
in summer
the leaded panes of heroes
and dead heroines

wrap winters drifts past the sharp
block endings of dead apartment
housing
the closed up theatre that has seen
enough the nickle rails where the
seven thirty eight freight squeals
through town come morning
waking mothers junkies and miners
awake for the shifts

and the radio
advises
and guides us with
music
and weather

the snow falls
thick here
like suspicion
indifference in
every dropping
beautiful crystal

piling up
crashing down
the weight of this
little town
and all its windows
I know by heart
all the come and gone
whom played their
part

the angels drifting
with the dead
some found
some gone
and never was

we are falling
like wavelengths
like eyebrows raised
"Wass Up!"

moribound like mirrors
and smoke
the easy etch a sketch
and Ouija jokes

death a companion
in a slide
behind the smiles
the mirror flash
the dark deep black

the cold that welcomes
and never gives back

Wow a journey through small town aussie wouldnt be much different ... I loved the abandoned theatre with the train passing by no one to hear its whistle ... the windows that once framed the people attending to the customers all gone now

im rambling but I really liked the poem left me with a poignantly sad feeling

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” — W.B. Yeats

and further north it gets harder and tougher
and yet it makes the beautiful moments even more
shine brighter against the northern wilds and harsh
town lifestyles...These people...someone has to mine
someone has to ranch and administer to the people..
Have seen shows on Aussie..a most interesting people
and land... This is just a view of our town here...there
are others...there is great beauty here and a settled
beam then the more unsettled beam..

There is a barren beauty in the outback the old towns
With roofs flapping in a dusty breeze ... On the property's
Or stations the cattle graze lethargicly until roundup

My family owns land one day I plan to live so far away
Where the flies blanket the earth and with the wet seasons
Grow a brilliant green and the beauty steals your breath
Away ....

Just a little piece of home
