Age

A Skit on Age

Had I the golden charms of youth, I would sell them
To be solemn, I laugh at the serious things
Crater lines, as the Grand Canyons cross my face
As to the hair it blew away last autumns storm

I inhaled the passive smoke, against all healthy laws
Gold wraps my twisted fingers worn so thin as is my smile
Rare endeavours of reaching up for printer paper, too late,
Pallid pages, ink spilling, psychologists pictures made

Raining again today, sky hidden once more, blue what's that?
A new time about to start again, must buy a belt that's shorter,
I remembered that someone laughed once, he's gone now
I cried then, as I do now, for humanity and it's modern view.

I will enact the seventh age of man, on your worldly stage
I may recall the other ages, if only they were bright in memory.
I shall soon be in perfect ascendance, to rejoin my forefathers
I hope that I can go with steady pace, as I now fear speed.

That is all that matters
Rodin .... I think therefore I am .... Is true. Without your brain even the perfect body is useless.although the converse is also true Christopher Reeve after his riding accident had an intact brain but a body that did not function and this is not a good situation to be in. See story of Charles organ. The millions he received are no good to him though his wife is having a good time with it

Lovely of you to quote these things young lady, I am seventy and fully fit I have the odd twinge from a little Arthritis but who doesn't,.
This is purely fictional, I write for fun most times and have had some feel sorry for me, but that's just another of my fictional stories.
I can still run for a bus but prefer the car lol, I do all the fetching and carrying , shopping and suchlike, and my mind is still alert to all things.
Thanks though for your thoughts about me , the write must have been OK then ??? Yours, Ian.T

For many people Age seems to be a sad time it is bound to sneak out of a write about it lol.
I fear not the dawn, though I wonder what would stop me in my tracks and make me unhappy, we have talked of many things and memories that stay with us of things we would have loved to do and places we would love to go to or be.
Reality then rears up and catches in your throat, I know there are many things I could have done, and my choice was dictated by situations and my stupid way of just going with the flow.
Like standing on the platform of a railway station watching many go away to all different destinations, where you know you would have a lovely holiday, then you turn and carry on sweeping away, as you know that those around you are safer and it is you they need at that time, which has seemed to carry on for a life time lol.
I'll give you sad I have had many lovely times and the ones I let go would have been just as good..
Take care young lady, you know that we are there with you for the next week or so, Yours Ian, Anne & the Children Plus

I know that catch in the throat, when you sit back and realise that probably more than half of your life has passed you by in a blink, life and death are out of our hands and its on the whims of fate when we will depart, I understand standing at the station watching the people you love go away while you stay behind being the sensible one making sure everyone and everything is OK ...

thanks for being there hugs and love Jayne-Chloe xxx

The ref to the station was that it was all the things you watch going by,
during your life, some of the things you know that you would love to just go with.
The turning back to what you are doing and carrying on is only that it sometimes is a chance in passing lol "If Only" lol
I expected many to leave on other trains but this was my Station, we all have these..
Take care and thanks for the feelings, Yours Ian
