SENSATIONS

Wheels of feeling spin about the heart
and lungs, in blood, in air, in muscles,
start up rhythms that impart an impact on the brain,
a strain that tempts the nerves to do their special dance
and prance about from head to toe;
electric impulses that goad the body
into spasms wonderful, and stark,
as, set in swing, they carry out their tasks,
even though we didn't ask them to begin.

Each impulse pulses message about,
the touch, the sound, the smell, the sentiment,
their ever waiting sense aware, alert,
react to pure reality and dreams,
each thought, each moment felt and seen.
This common cause, effect, affects our lives,
colours our perceptions, as we strive to understand
the whole, the why and wherefore we act out our part,
a role in this mysterious existence, life.

Last few words:
January 3rd 2013. This poem started out with the word wheels, I didn't know what I was going to write about, and from there 'wheels,' developed itself, of itself, in my brain; and became what is is here, straight out. Ann.

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” — W.B. Yeats

I hope you are too. Its fun when one can inspire
others to have fun in one's poem. It was fun doing it too.

I seem not to dry up, several per day, so wait for it, I may
send out a book with 4-500 poems on the Kindle-type
system soon. So then one can read me ha ha!
Terrifying perhaps?

Love to you dear Jayne, Ann.

Pulse, muscle, blood, heart lungs, spasms .... Ode to a medical student.

A certain amount, but only generally, not in the least academically,
what I've gleaned through the years from this and that, but the
human body and its functioning has always fascinated me,
especially connected with the senses. We puzzle about
ourselves and find out things when things go wrong,
learning of all sorts, all subjects have a bearing on poetry.
Its unlimited.

M. Frenchf I can pronounce French, but this name baffles me!

BEAUTIFUL !

my days of feeling my heart beat
are soon to be done.

if there is such a one.

happy new year to all your extended family
We have learnt a lot from you..
since you are learned
and we are still
in the youth of knowledge

Oh blimey I don't call myself learnéd by a LONG CHALK,
it all depends what one means by that iI suppose, but
not schooled in poetry barely getting my O level English grammar,
and nothing but my own elf schooling after that, but thanks for
the honour of being called such even if it only lasted as long
as I read the words. It has false modesty too, as you are schooled,
and understand many things in physics I believe that I am not
able to follow I am sure. Always fascinated by the subject however
learning this and that that give the world its special shine.

Thank you for your comment L. Ann.

P.S.My extended family, I have no children, my partners children are somewhat family, as are some of you here, I have a sister and some cousins in their 80's in places very far away, but I am a person in the world and the whole world is my family. Thank you all the same.

till our sojourn on this earth
no one is ever attached to anyone
for ever after birth
we all move on..

all my best teachers were unmarried
yet we found the warmth in them
that has till today
I proclaim
made me worth a living soul
till I remain
after that who knows?

you are one such lady
for whom I have regards high
and find the sky not high enough …
regards if I may say
I’m always your well wisher
if that you permit me my way,
hence sister.. I have none...
from today…
