My Helpmate

And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. -- Genesis 2: 18 (KJV)

Angels must graced perfection upon such a lady,
With love more precious than a newborn baby;
Out of nowhere you came because I had the faith,
I thank God again for blessing me with you helpmate.

Took my breath away the first time I laid eyes on you,
Because my sole purpose in my life is to belong to you;
Hope came along the very moment that you entered,
No longer was the single life an option I had ventured.

For certain my soul is imcomplete when you are far,
Hence my heart deeply yearns to be wherever you are;
To sustain us all that I have for you willingly surrender,
And the reciprocal is a life in which joy endlessly enters.

Angels must graced perfection upon such a lady,
With love more precious than a newborn baby;
Out of nowhere you came because I had the faith,
I thank God again for blessing me with you helpmate.

Feels like a fairy tale to be your knight in shining armor,
As a perfect gift fell from the sky, such woman of wonder;
A complete woman better than I had all ever dreamed of
With a face too beautiful for any pair of eyes to yet sync up.

Truly it is pleasure to let this commitment take place
With the honor of each morning of waking to your face;
Uncomprosining love granted being the woman you are,
As our souls intertwined as one only by death shall we part.

Angels must graced perfection upon such a lady,
With love more precious than a newborn baby;
Out of nowhere you came because I had the faith,
I thank God again for blessing me with you helpmate.

The repeated line
Angels must graced perfection upon such a lady,
is grammatically wrong, especially bad for a repeated line. Perhaps
Angels must have graced perfection upon such a lady.

The rest is terribly sentimental and cliched, and I can't help thinking that an object of such adoration deserves a better epithet than 'helpmate'

I like the way you handle long lines with elegance, though, an achievement in itself.

cheers,
Jess
