GOING HOME II

GOING HOME II

I can’t go back
It’s been too long.

no warm embraces
no one to see or hold
and who I was then
has died with each of them.
I'm lost and don't belong.

Age brings on some awful feelings, there is no going back, it is never the same, no one will be there, will they even remember your name..
This is why I keep my best people, recycled in my memory banks, and let them age as I would like them to, not as the life they have had dictates, I don't know that life, so my memories would all be corrupt if I returned.
I remember someone I met 35 years ago and they have aged as have I, and they are still beautiful and love me the same, yet should I meet the reality who knows, would they remember my name, ???
