And the Angels Cried

Intent faces, scrubbed and clean
In the classrooms bold and keen

The future engraved upon this land
In trusting eyes and busy hands

Horrendous noise and injured mind
And sorrow is all that's left behind

Smiling faces, peals of laughter
Walking now in the great hereafter

RIP little ones...

I tried very hard to write for the children as you have done, but this time I have failed, the words are frozen in some place and to thaw them out would cause me more tears..
Children to me are as the Spring a new beginning, this is the few lines I had jotted down:-
My children, your children, what have they done,
Taking your laughter away, with the sound of a gun.

How can I equate with what you have now caused
Some friends gone, I feel split, they left me here alone.

I just can't any more, to write where it will change one thing, well even this comment.
I will just say I am more than Sad, Yours Ian.T

.
There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

I can write no more. Children are precious and my shoulders and neck are tight from grief.

I am not even going to offer any suggestions as this poem came straight from your heart.
Why babies Rett, what did they ever do to anyone

Let your mercy spill on all these burning hearts in hell(Leonard Cohen)

I wish I knew. It takes some really sick bastard to do this. Yes, then went straight to the keyboard, no changes.

this youth they said was troubled...the evil one..
he shot all the women...and the kids
shot his own mother..
shy and with aspergers syndrome
and brilliant with high intellect
was prone to outbursts and they took
him away,,installed a security system
did all the right checks
but rage and hate will find a way

It is my love that goes to the parents
and survivors.....
now...and to the elders with wisdom
and power to construct a system to
protect our youth the most vunreable
Michigan State has now allowed a
new bill allowing a new measure of
security to combat and guard against
this kind of new offense as our society
slips further into the foray of mental
illness and destruction

I pray for those taken
and for the strength needed
from our leaders elect to
do the proper action to protect
further our young...
Our future!!

Thank You
Rett!

God Bless...

Once more proof that there are monsters among us. Only suggestion is to try "Now walking in the great hereafter"...................stan

Will try it on for size.

Monsters walk among us and are excused.

before i could read any of the stories from this tragedy - i totally avoided them until i could no longer do so

likewise with your poem rett - a heartbreakingly beautiful dedication

i tried to write something - but couldn't bring myself to - maybe later when it is not so raw
well done

'Each for the joy of the working, and each, in his separate star,
shall draw the Thing as he sees It, for the God of Things as They are.'
(Rudyard Kipling)

I find that I cannot write something for the children either. My mind is simply too raw; being abrased by the news media. I just have overload of emotion right now. Maybe it's better that way. I don't think that I could do as good a job as you have. Right from the heart and straight to the pen. Well done Rett. ~ As always, ~ Gee

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

Nice poem, just so bloody sad. Regards Roscoe...

Roscoe Llane,

for the mask of disbelief that's left.
