LANGUAGE, LIVING MUSIC

Language,
its live music fills the universe with sounds
that never die,
each phrase recorded in the sky,
the rhythms of its song established, tried,
ever changing with the throng of youth
in newer times.

All variations on the theme,
the voice of many tongues,
a magical cacophony of utterances, written,
sung,
performed as dance,
interpreted expressions of our lives,
that out in space,
when we are gone,
survives.

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” — W.B. Yeats

free verse is supposed to take the reader on a journey. This did that. I left the the mouths of millions of people and danced in the minds of the world and I learned new steps to old dances. Then I was transported to the farthest reaches of space;where everything that has ever been said, waits for us to catch up with it. Love and hugs,~ Sir Gee

LONE STAR

Lone star on horizons far away,
I see you here so near today,
in winters darkened sky,
you are my present company.

We wander far and wide,
and I admire your constancy, beside,
your light is dim, yet I discern your blink.

As fiery heat describes your birth;
how long it takes to reach my mother, earth,
to state a claim to timeless fame at Yule,
perform a role all nature could admire.

Adding light to myths of wonder that inspire
religions, far and wide, unwittingly you add,
subtract a peace, partaken of each member
of the human race, who in their own small way
try desperately to keep pace.

25th November 2012.

And thsnk you Serenity of mind too. Ann.

but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.
