JOY-STEALER

Your Joy-Stealer
will drain
clear
de-stable

It flows like
toxic spill
bubbles and
festers
in you

Light and dark
Joy and misery
Ebb and flow

Who will know
the

Dark in your tunnel?
dark in your head?
dark in your exit?

So, no escape
it's a bleak
thief

Takes no prisoners
this Joy-Stealer

You could be wise
confident
smiling

Then the creeping
assailant strikes!

Dark in your tunnel
dark in your head
dark in your exit

So no escape
it's a bleak
thief

Death, the
Joy-Stealer's
friend
crowns the ultimate prize

Relief.

For those of us fighting dark battles...

I very much enjoyed this dark poem! For I have a dark and twisted monster lurking in the depth of me. He is my male alter ego that writes by the name of eddy styx. I loved these lines:

Who will know
the

Dark in your tunnel?
dark in your head?
dark in your exit?

So, no escape
it's a bleak
thief

always, Cat (& eddy)
