epitaph

she clears her throat
and your ears prick
to hear what sighed words
she may yet weep
from sour mouth and
flaming eyes
she is alive
in every word you utter
dead in every hope
you dare hold
look to her not
for comforts sake
but rather
for that pain
you so endlessly crave

to express the pain of unrequited love. I'm not one much for freeform poetry, but this one hit the mark. ~ Geezer

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

love the splendor of this word
its like this season here
Waking like now
writing before work
the half hour commute on the mountain
bike..the subdivisions and trees
That cold morning air that makes
the sun so brilliant
the details so sharp

vivid as a dream

Crave is a narcotic
suffused sublime
and charged as
a sugar rush

that pain
how it makes
me feel alive

Thank You

Love that name !!!

My first read of your poem left me feeling something
was out of place, yet it drew me back in. I don't usually
read other critiques if I'm planning on leaving one, and
haven't yet here but I will when finished.

On my second read I believe what this poem could stand
is some separation, to give this powerful emotionally charged
write the impact it deserves. Much said here in so few words,
I love that ...

Richard

is there an antidote for addiction
for lyrics and depth
the lightning
against the thick darkness
racing in the wind

knowing its time to come in

I remember standing in the dark
while the rains poured down
in summer

I remember how I come to
this inner place
this route
this maze of what IVe made
through the years

this poem I feel
the last few lines especially

who knew pain could be
so delicate

little whip licks
stick around my halo
tilted
from a heart
long jilted
forlorn and born
a fusilade of
beats

like rain in a
forests dell
where I pay
to ride in Hell

far on the forest trail with the shar pei
haunting the woods...the slender trunks
the limbs and conifers gathered in their
hollows..Her nose to the winds...
Something in there...we push on gliding
like shadows...sunset like age timing us
a Trick knee for me..an adverse eye
for her... Poetry in my thoughts..even
up there far away....came back here
looking for this....windburned...aching
savoring its words...

Poetry...Poetry...Poetry...if we could
only howl!! and now the moon..

Thank You! a look back!
