Let's hate!

I don't mean hate crimes, I mean hating things worth hating on this site.

Mi bi-polar enhancement and health issues tend to lead me to express extreme opinions, but don't some of you think the same things, moderated by politeness, concern, misguided nurturing?

The rank stupidity, lack of talent and ignorance of many Neopoets is worthy of harsh, not critique, but criticism.

If you will help me, I won't feel so alone. I'll still be an arse. I do not suffer fools gladly and will always say my truth (even when I'm mad and it is bullshit). It's my role. I wish more people would be ruthlessly honest then I would not be a lone scapegoat.

Come on my friends and colleagues, call shit poetry shit, add a suggestion. Tell people when the message, the subtext they deliver is fascist or mediocre crap, sentimental dead rat mentality, lack of mentality or disguised hate crimes.

I don't see anyone else doing it.

I am not talking of those wonderful critiquers who give valid poetic and technical suggestions. The best is Judyanne. I am talking about being outraged by mediocre content and meaning and challenging it. Be brave.

Now Neopoet needs new paying members badly. I don't want to drive the "supernatural whiners" (for a euphemism) away, but the integrity of the site is above all. that is what will make us an enduring site.

I have got to agree, but we must be honest with a poets mind and heart. If we don't like or think something is not really poetic enough for Neopoet we can't hide. But we must be careful not to run in gangs, what i mean is honesty even harsh to a point, but we must also never be afraid to be the only one on the other side of the fence. Challenge critique we may find to harsh or not technically correct, and be prepared for challenges to our own crtique. Regards Roscoe..

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.

but who doesn't hate racists, religious fanatics, CEO's, corporations and other manifestations of evil in this world?

They could write lovely poetry (but I doubt it) though they would still be worthy of the most extreme censure.

I once hounded, and I mean really hassled the shit out of with repeated abusive messages and comments, a fairly decent poet who wrote of the right of the foetus from the product of an incest rape, right off this site. Do you blame me?

cheers,
Jess

fascist
fas·cist   [fash-ist]
A person who believes in or sympathizes with fascism.
Is ( often initial capital letter ) a member of a fascist movement or party.
A person who is dictatorial or has extreme right-wing views.

Just a dictionary explanation on one of the words you used to describe people, can we stop assuming what people are, as this has
"NOTHING "to do with the poem they have posted.

We can as you have done here Blog a reply.

Lets keep the essence of Neopoet where we learn poetry and teach the same.
I could write as a poem called the "declaration of independence" I wonder what the critique would be, would it be about each paragraph or the views of the person that penned it and what that person maybe like.

Most of this list is what someone presumes what another person thinks or is suggesting when they are writing Poetry or Prose, if they are trying through their writes to pervert you then just send them a Message or take the thing apart on a Blog not on the Stream

Can we now get back to our normal ways, a few of us visit the dark places sometimes for a while and others for a long time.

I think that most of us know each other enough, to be able to sort out the difference between correct critique on a work and any other thing.

We are all supposed to be responsible people, so our critique should be taken from that point, if we are not strong enough to take a bit/lot of crap from another poet then we must look to see if we really are thinking straight, or that the other poet may need a bit of space.

How we here as people that never meet the other person, how can we ever berate or form opinions on His/Her person..

It's about time we just "drew a line(Cliché) in the sand" and do what this site asks of us, comment on poetry only on stream.

If you have a problem with a poet or poem that is outside of the normal we have a thing called Message!!! this can be used for anything else other than the correct critique of a Poem/Piece.

There are also Blog's if you feel that all should read but:-

"KEEP ALL PERSONAL COMMENTS OFF THE MAIN STREAM"

We are wasting the brain power of a lot of people, who should be tutoring and helping the not so good poets to improve their knowledge.
Also to help them understand the mechanics of poetry, I think that it is hard to not comment on some poetry that drifts left or right but the writer should have the Bloody sense to know what they are writing and have the intelligence not to bother.
I have said enough for now I hope that sense will prevail on Neopoet, Yours Ian.T

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

A workshop will be starting shortly, run by Ron and I, "Mindful Memorable Freeform: The Challenge".

It will challenge the very ideas and ideologies inherent in poetry, and how to express them effectively.

A subtext of "jews (blacks, pro-choice) are bad" will be challenged.

It is Shark Pool, of course. And it is a challenge.

That you challenge all those things if they are written as a poem to push those opinions at people you will have my support.
Though we just must not attack the person for their beliefs.
The Point of the poem, shall I say the theme can be taken to task, but which god or entity will we call on to be the Judge of the person or their cause no matter how bad.
It is a known evil that this happens, but there are more ways of stopping it.
They do not control Neopoet and there can always be a suspension or is there a person that can press the unpublish button other than the author?
It could be done through a vote or something.
We just have to keep personal attacks on people off of the stream as they bring bad feelings in instead of learning.. I will look out for your Workshop and bring Shark repelant with or to quote a classic "Buy a bigger Boat" lol

The opinions, subtext or beliefs that a poet expresses is the poet.

I have been accused over and over again of attacking/critiing the poet instead of the poem. Fuck that! The poet is the poem and I will continue to do so.

Go on, fucking ban me. I will do it even more.

The fucking coward poet who says "it was just my poem" is lying! Either they are a propagandist or not a poet. A poet says what they are.

persona - The speaker or voice of a literary work, or in plainer words, "who's doing the talking."

it should not be automatically assumed that a creative work directly reflects the personal experiences or views of the poet.
