Training Lemmings to Pedal the Wheel

training wheels on bicycles
training bras
training horses

dogs
and children

training citizens to keep
the fear near après September 11

throw prejudice into the money pit
make it yellow if it doesn't fit
cowardice for the pacifist
paltry poetry lines for the disenfranchised

spread the fear of Aids, and be afr-aid
be very afraid
that our country's party is split by a nose hair
bring in corporate welfare
and give up the freedom to think
listen
to Fox News and taste the irony:
cheap billionaire power
controlling the masses
while history repeats itself
the state of decline is economic
and the moral imperative smells foul
smells like
dirty money, deforestation and oil-for-hire
militia men under false flags
there's a revolution brewing, my friend
and they're handing out hero badges,
want one?
After all
it's easy enough to prostitute yourself: just let anyone
fuck your body and rape your mind, make you believe their lies
make you lose the sat-chit-ananda of your
higher power.

I never believed in evil per se (do you?) no devil in a body suit
with pitchfork and horns under a baseball cap
no hell beyond the revolving door
though insanity prevails snarling with Cerberus teeth
hiding on the homeless corner where
injustice lives.

Just don't bring it out into the open, never to be seen
for what it is. Mass suicide.

Eventually.

Not versed in the politics of USA what I get from this
is the sight of someone training a bra,
wow
that's quite something I can tell you,

I wonder how they move, move them things,
swing them things, thwack them whack them
wiggle giggle kick them, just dancing with your bra Anna!

Ann :)

"The image of yourself which you see in a mirror Is dead,
but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

Of course, Scandinavian countries have the highest living standards in at least a dozen categories.

America could look there for guidance, but we won't. We like our spoon-fed misery, thank you very much.

A poet's work is to name the unnameable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world, and stop it going to sleep.

But I'm baffled by the firs stanza.

A new workshop on the most important element of poetry-
'Rhythm and Meter in Poetry'

The first stanza (as is the second) is about training...sets up the training of the masses, so to speak.

Maybe you should pick on sheep instead. :-D hehehe My husband despies Faux news. I thought it was interesting when I took statistics and we had to find a misuse of statistics. Their website had a plethora of incorrect statistics, and it's funny people will just swallow them w/o thinking about the fact that the percentages add up to more than 100%.

Something definitely does need to change here in the U.S. The problem is, the corporations have taken over, good luck over throwing them. :-( Money is power, you know.

It is such a secret place, the land of tears. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
