Time to wake up! It's happening on OUR WATCH!

Yes it is up to us.
Not good enough to click 'like' on Facebook posts about the occupations.
We can and are making a difference.
Time to roll out one of the immortal quotes
'History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.'
Martin Luther King, Jr.

But with the addition
Be there, go there, do it in person. Despite media lies the sheer volume of people can not be ignored.

I agree we can all put words on a page, it's time to put feet on the street. Love Roscoe..

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.

All that is required for evil to prevail is that good men do nothing.A quote I wish I'd said. It is my intent to continue working within the system in order to bring about change in the direction I think we need to go. No company should receive tax breaks for relocating off shore From Any Country. Indeed they should lose what subsidies they have if they do so. No country should receive most favored nation trade status if its citizens are under bondage. No corporation of Any type should be deemed to big to fail. And the only way to control growth of government is to starve it of money. No elected office should be held by any individual for more than 3 consecutive terms. Elected officials should be barred from setting up their own health care and retirement systems in which taxpayer money is spent. And socialism never has and never will work as it is contrary to human nature.........................stan

the evil travesty of corporations having the rights of an individual must be repealed.

Oh, on that last sentence about socialism. Got to disagree. There is no such thing as human nature, especially as defined within a religion with the concept of original sin. If I have one article of faith it is in the mutability, the potential for betterment of human culture and ideology. There have been societies without greed or even the concept of the word 'lie' so it can potentially exist in a wider context. The idea of a fixed 'human nature' is a copout from striving for the betterment of our species.

Got to agree with Jess on this one Stan. We in the west have been brainwashed into thinking socialism is wrong. If not why does being anti-social get such a bad name, the politicians and corporation chiefs with the help of religious leaders make it up to suit their greed. Regards Roscoe...

Thank you all for your input. It's time to connect all the dots. And here's one of the last dots. Complete with reality-check graphs. (I love graphs!)

"Rich People DON'T Create Jobs: 6 Myths That Have to Be Killed for Our Economy to Live
These zombie talking points aren't just wrong; they're dangerous. If we're ever going to revive the economy, we've got to tackle them head on. "

and immediately obvious to anyone with an inkling of economics and politics. So why do people keep falling for these blatant lies?

Corporate owned media. Oh no, media news is impartial, my fat arse. What thinking person can watch Fox without squirming in disgust and revulsion.

An important factor is de-unionisation. America has had to longest and most savagely sustained attack on unions, depriving people from their power to with-hold labour and access to information. A very clever tactic has been the middle management myth. If you are not actually a grunt labourer you get called some sort of assistant/trainee manager or team leader and automatically excluded from unions.

only the rich create jobs is bull manure. Most new jobs are created by bootstrap start ups. Even the stats back this up. The only time in which the most wealty people created jobs was when they were "led" to do so by the tax code. The tax code once taxed the welthy at a very high rate BUT it also furnished loop holes that allowed them to pay less........by engaging in behavior which resulted in job growth and creation. Then the demigogs started railing against these very loop holes and politicians closed most of them. So the money went overseas . Bring back higher taxes accompanied by job creating loop holes. This is the system which was in place in the 50s-70s when our economy flourished and the middle class grew. And let's get past the idea that a government job should count as job creation as all it doesis pull money from the private (read productive) sector to the government sector. Unions......like almost everything in any society unions are subject to the pendulum effect. They began as much needed controls on corporate greed and then became corrupted into organizations existing mainly for their own good. The best examples of this swing is public employee unions. They effectively use their membership as pawns to price themselves far beyond market worth and make itnearly impossible to fire even the most corrupt and dispicable members. Instead of being fired too many are booted upstair so as to protect the public from them while their pay checks continue to sap public funds. Yet the pendulum Does swing and the most arrogant unions(other than congress) are being brought under control.Power never balances and it is unfortunate that the responsible unions will now join in paying for the excesses of the irresponsible ones

Hi Stan, so we agree on the pendulum swing. And we agree on corruption. Big business, unions, banking, wall street and government. Its effect is hitting every one of us that are not in the 1% minority.
(Or the upper eschelon of the 99%)....those who have security: enough money to buy a small country.
I could go on but I won't. I'd have to write a book or something.

It seems to me that one good thing that is coming out of this is that perhaps we won't fall asleep again,
complacent when *others* are being targeted. You know, Pastor Neimoller's "first they came".

In a country so dogmatically *Christian* espousing all kinds of rhetoric that peeks into our bedrooms, women's bodies and our telephones we've forgotten real Christian ideals: love one another and don't fuck over your brother or his wife.

Thank you all for chatting, now let's get down to the business of leaving a better world for our children,
and that includes yours mine and theirs.
