Reflective Conversation...

Who's there?
I don't know
Why not?

Who are you?
I'm you
No, you're not

Look close
I see me
Do you?

Style / type:
Free verse
Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Last few words:
just a little experiment with syllable count

Who is he the who that's me,
What is I and me? Only an idea
when one thinks of it, like time,
the only moments we experience
that we are us, is when we think,
who am I.
Otherwise we do not see me or I.
Or do we?

Makes me think again, 'scuse me, of the Irishman,
who said: Och Paddy, I saw you in the street
the other day, and when we came together
it was neither of us!!!!!! I love that!

I can't see you except as a name, and a
personality, who are you?

Ann :)

"The image of yourself which you see in a mirror Is dead,
but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

This needs elaboration. The original idea was just an exercise in syllable count and meter. I have been told by others, that they would like to see an extension of this theme. They said that it was too abrupt an end. I'm not sure how to approach the theme again, and what I might say. I will give it some thought, and maybe I will tackle it in the near future. Love, Gee

to Ann, This was an exercise in syllable count. I am considering another effort, to continue the line of thought, and maybe take some ideas from those who are interested in a workshop on this theme. It wouldn't have to be a lesson or such in meter, although it might be fun to add that demension. We might get some very interesting poems from such a thing. ~ Gee

takes many different directions, as I think so many thoughts. I think I might border on being autistic. I am easily distracted, but when I am really interested, I can bring my inattention to a screeching halt. Yes, I work hard at writing, but it is a labor of love. I will say, that if it were not for Neo. and the oh so many wonderful writers here, [yourself included], I wouldn't have the inclination or inspiration. Thank you for the encouragement and advice you have given me since my arrival. ~ Love and higgest bugs, ~ Guy
