A nightmare dream...

A nightmare dream

I dreamt of a nightmare I once had
that frightens me no longer
thinking of this dream or nightmare
I feel now I am stronger.

This nightmare was a life I had
long ago when I was cowed
I dropped this life along with fear
to stand and say I’m proud.

Proud to be the man I have become,
even more so of my kin
Through them I’ve found my perfect niche
also that sometimes we can win

As a young man I was kind of wild
had a bad start some may suggest
But though we never had a lot
as parents mine were the best.

Other people made my life seem hard
not knowing what they’d sewn.
Cause they made one hard little cookie
as they found out when I had grown

Wrong word was said the fuse was lit
no backward step was taken
I then went on to win my battles
or from unconsciousness did waken

Along came my young family
their battles soon became mine
Nurturing and protecting them
from all the nasty swine

I fought of nasty neighbours vile
drug dealers who tried to coerce
Some things best not talked about
and I shall never put in verse

But as they grew up good young men
a mothers nature soon would show
I speak now of the perfect person
who’s influences you should know

She guides me still in what I do
there is no better council
Situations I find are best talked through
on this I know her will

Together for a lot of years are we
and none that I’d regret
My life’s been better since our meeting
and by golly it’s not finished yet

Anyway getting back to this dream of mine
about this silly nightmare I once had
Bloody hell forgot what it was about
see, I told you life is never that bad..

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.
