An Apology To Neo Poets

I feel I must apologize for the disruption, confusion, and paranoia my poem/blog might have generated on the sight. At the time I wrote it, I was hurt and confused. I believe now that I was mislead in p.m.’s, about another member’s actions and feelings towards me. I’m not sure what this person may have stood to gain but I feel I was the tool used in this deception and disruption. I apologize to you all for having been taken in, in this matter. This person has now deleted their account. NEO is a great place to share our poetry and to find help with same. It is also a community with a delicate balance. I am sorry for having done anything to tip that balance, as unintended as it was.

always, Cat

p.s.

Thank you to all who have supported me throughout this ordeal.

Glad to see the *issue* has been resolved, however:

Delicate balance, Cat? Life is a delicate balance, an internet poetry site is just what it is...no more no less but for the trust and friendship we extend to one and all.

Some of us have proven ourselves over the course of years. I usually go with my gut feeling and find myself in balance more often than not, especially when I don't expect it from the *outside* in. Everyone alive has to find that within him/herself.

A caveat to note is to pay attention to p.m. in a he said she said.....and then dismiss it for what it is....hearsay...and gossip. It didn't work in middle school and it certainly isn't going to work on a mostly adult poetry site. But then again any group is as good as its members....or not. Perhaps we all learned something from this ugly incident.

I did.

You are so right in your assessment. Due to the personal trait that I trust too easily, I got played. I think I learned a valuable lesson fro this experience. It will not go by the wayside. I feel really stupid for having taken the bait, especially at my age. I would never have used someone like that, so it never occured to me that anyone else would do such a thing. How naive is that? I will be more guarded in my future dealings. I live a fairly sheltered life, but this has been an eye opener. On the other hand I have made a couple of dear friends on Neo that I greatly value. I have even met one of them in person. Thanks for your input, Anna.

There's an old saying I learned from a friend when I entered the internet world.

"Trust in Allah but tie your camel". I try not to be too surprised by anyone's actions;
however, I've been blindsided by life often enough. My children had to work out issues
that apparently were long-standing between them...it came up during my son's wedding.
Who would thought? Thankfully, they resolved it and the big day was exquisite and without one iota of any problem. Everyone had a good time and remarked how well-behaved the big kids were as well as the little ones; all enjoying themselves and each other. The reason we get together as extended *families*.

Peace on us all.

You did nothing and it is over. Time to move on. Blessings

Cat,

I know it was important to you make this apology, and although I don't feel you owe anybody an apology, I hope that you are now settled and ready to serve the community.

You have dealt with this matter in a professional manner and I understand completely why you felt resigning was the right thing to do.

However, you are back and I for one am pleased as punch about it.

love

Dan

With all that I am and all that I could be, I walk this earth, yet nobody sees me.

I so agree here as it is good to see her back in her rule. Anna also makes a good point about who you are pm'ing and just how much of that is intended for deceit and fraud.. you never know who your true friends are for one minute they claim to just love you and the next minute can stab a knife to your neck or back in a heartbeat. I too hold my balance. Have been wrong a few times and have learned that trust has to be earned and not just a given.

Good luck to both of you and retracting your resignation was the best thing to do here as both of you offer much to this site of poets.

Mom told me many years ago.. I am telling you now..smiles Dan xoox
From the porch:)

Yes, I'm back and ready to serve. Thank you for your help and support throughout all of this ordeal.

As is rightly said "All is Well That Ends Well"...it is nice to know that the ordeal is over and whosoever was the cause of it is now not on it...

I too am greatful to the AEC for dealing with this matter in an expedient fashion. It is good to be a part of Neo.

I totally understand where you are coming from,
folks were beginning to look at everyone as a potential
threat. I'm glad it's over and very happy you are back.

cat, i don't think you need offer an apology

you vented about something that affected you greatly, and
you were completely entitled to do so
what the reader did with the information you provided, was
entirely their choice/ responsibility.........that was never your burden

i so agree with Anna's thoughts in regards to a poetry site
being simply what it is...no more no less
this is cyberland
each user is in charge of, and in control of, their emotions
and responses
the pity is, the majority don't realise that

i am so glad you are staying cat

it would have been so wrong for you to
have left

cheers
