Birth of a Shadow Dancer

He was but a vampyre
in every sense of the word,

living life vicariously
through her to the absurd.

When he finally had her
under his powerful spell,

he continued to keep her hostage
subliminally, so she couldn't tell.

His passion's hues so very dark
she longed for his embrace,

she yearned to play within the shadows
where light was but a trace.

In the dankness of each evening
when the air began to cool,

she couldn't help but plead to him
to stop treating her so cruel.

He drained her life force, slowly
as old as he was, he could wait;

in the end he knew that ultimately
she'd seal her own, damned fate.

With the gravity of his essence
his dark existence excited her;

she obediently poured her hollow trust
into a decision with no cure.

Later, when darkness's breath turns wet
and becomes callous, and as cold as stone;

she'd nurse an urge to summon him
so as not to feel so all alone.

The misleading, twilight passion
warns, and entices with it's voice;

convincing her to readily commit
to join the shadows by her own choice.

Now, a brand new, shadow dancer
the latest victim that he's played;

her dawn, and rainbow sunlight dreams
dim, and quickly begin to fade;

as her heartbeat begins focusing
to the one voice it's trained to listen;

the waves of darkness pound her shore
under an orb that can barely, glisten.

I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How does this theme appeal to you?
Is the internal logic consistent?
Last few words:
Sometimes you can tell when gravity has been a "bitch" to me, of late.......and then other times, darkness may get the call. It appears that darkness prevailed.......here. doc.

...a little dark, I guess. I'm glad it caught your eye. Maybe now people won't glamorize the evil dead.
