That's a good idea I will discuss it with Dan and see if it's viable.

Thank you

how about having a section which describes each type/form of poetry in as concise a form as possible..in easy language which can be easily understood by amateurs like me...preferably with an illustration / example...i remember Ian (yenti) keeps on updating such information in his blog...he could be requested to do such section

raj (sublime_ocean)

A good idea, but I am sort of doing that, I am getting jess to write pieces types of poetry and things like metre etc.

Thank you

if you have already planned for it that's nice...i would look forward to see it once it is put up..may be you can have a look at lots of information Ian has and both he and Jeff can work together

The email version can be in a nicely formatted with a good layout preferably in HTML format ..it would make it more impressive and add pleasure and ease to reading...it would also enable members the option to enlarge the font size to become easy on their eyes...

over a period of time some graphics can also be added to poems posted in the newsletter

This is something for Andrew.

thank you

Raj and yes..less graphic is good. Mona smiles. Lord we can really stuff some things into a newsletter and a comment eh? Some of it is off the chain.

Lou I read the newsletter from my home address and I am impressed with all who partake in it. Sure is good information and lots of it also. You all are doing great on it

Mona

I wonder how difficult it would be to welcome each new member by name?............stan

we would need to have someone make a list, i suppose that it could be done.

Stan & Lou,

new joiners are registered somewhere because Andrew makes the list available to the Greeters (well he will as soon as it is up and running), so it is a possibility. The only risk is is we open next Monday and 100 members join, it will be a long newsletter!!...but I like the idea, it is a good way to make these people feel welcomed.

Raj - Andrew will have to look into that because it takes up a lot of server space to include graphics and some users can't always access the same graphics depending on their own systems requirements. I made the "Official Positions" in a more dynamic layout, but it was not easy to implement, so it was dropped and revised to the standard version you can see now.

But let's not forget this idea...it would enhamce the look of Neopoet for sure.

regards,

HS

With all that I am and all that I could be, I walk this earth, yet nobody sees me.

the thought of disc space on server had crossed my mind too..but at some point of time Neopoet will need to look into these aspects too to make it more attractive and easy on the eyes...for now we can keep this issue on the back burner...

Is there a one on one mentoring here do you know? The only reason I ask is this. Being of little bit of time now but it was on my mind, I was wondering if a poet could take a new poet or one that has been on here awhile and work one on one with that person they choose. Of course this comes with commitment from both sides and I wonder if others would like this idea as well.

Some folks work great in groups and some folks work better with one on one workshops. That is what I am getting at for question sake here. That way it is not just one teaching one, but both writer and mentor helping and teaching each other so to speak. It would not be so stringent but it would call for the participation at least once a week (or more) and working on one aspect that a writer or poet may have to helping them understand or to try new things. Or just plain help with writers block.

In other words a One On One workshop? I like to hear the ideas on this or opinions whichever what other members think on it, I suppose. Thanks

Good suggestions here as well

Mona

Yes it is possible to be a mentor or ask to be mentored one on one. ...................stan

How is the book coming along? Have not forgot your homework I have:)

I think that the mentors were a good thing, and would good, running along side the workshops, for people who would prefer that.
