CRIPPLING LOVE

Your affection is not in doubt
I see it written all over your face
Of all the good people, you chose me
What can I say? But to thank you

In return I give the best I could
You led me into your troubled soul
The shaman sets to restore hope
And wiped away your silent tears

Since we met, nothing seems to work
People call you all sorts of names
And query everything you do and say
I see their points, but I gave a blind eye

You have made huge sacrifices
To keep the association going
You monitored my every move
To be sure none competed with you

I have learnt from you, many things
Even the art of querulous jealousy
Along with spasmodic bursts of anger
And these I do not like at all

Listening to the songs in the tales
As I walk through the labyrinth
Of unfulfilled pledges and promises
These crippled my ability and strength

Most disturbing, in all these things
I ask myself for umpteenth times
This empire, built with packs of cards
Will it stand, when the wind blows?

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Is the internal logic consistent?
