archaeology
we are an archaeological dig
slowly filled in with used-up things
teeth too dull to bite flesh
orgasms that fail to manifest
from your too high or too low
state of mind
our wrestle with it-
life, love
is the cat smashed
on the highway, broken pencils
slivers of soap, hair, gristle
old tv shows we watched with
eyes like blind blackened
light bulbs
you used to kneel down like bridges
i was the city, all billow and plunge
like wild horses in the smoke
and you'd open yourself up like
hysterical burning eyes at night
as the heroin straight lined
i trembled-
i listen to static in the phone
hear you break apart like
an icy meadow, shrieking
your grief to the cows
i hear your praying tears
in softening blackness
i hear you outside my window
crazed, inconsolable
i go out and take you inside
yesterday you said
you saw us in a photograph
in a ditch by C-163
half in the water
the rest of us
beached in the mud
but unlike your grief
i am not burned
by a hand of faith I cannot see
we make love again
because death you said
is more certain for you
and i promise not to call you
at the end

Another roller-coaster ride,
Another roller-coaster ride, CCFire style. Love your stuff, how could it not, it reminds me of my earlier works. lol.
I think, however, you could lose a couple of likes.
I wish I could point out favourite stanzas but I can't they're all so fucking good. (And as far as I know Theo doesn't bite much) ;-)

lol Thanks Ana, I couldn't resist the dig..it's been quite entetaining really :) I wanted to take out the likes..but somehow they seem pertinent, perhaps as it was a reply to a friends poem which I wish he'd post here because it's so damn good

If only we didn't get THAT
If only we didn't get THAT serious, we'd all have fun with Theo. Perhaps co-create a TV program..
"Fun With Theo" Johnny Depp, Charlie Sheen or Robert Downey Jr. starring.as Theo? .
Apropos, perhaps just a couple of "likes"? You'll see where they can be omitted.
Hope your friend joins the party. Only Theo bites. (And not that often ;-) )

You better keep him off
You better keep him off Neopoet then, I've been in love with Bukowski for a long time now. Barry understands my sins with Bukowski (hey I haven't written one of those for a long time!) but he might not be so gracious with my *fascination with Jordan*. ;-)

Jordan allowed me a compendium of his poems which i still have on my computer, one drunken night he sai he was going to destroy all 68 of them, I rescued them and have them safe for when he wonders what became of them...he's a timebomb but a good friend..I will PM you one of them to see...:)
